Viper and Corvette to do battle in 2014 IMSA
Here's a shot I took of the C7.R fighting it out with a Viper SRT GT3-R. However this particular Viper in this photo races in a different class (GTD) than the C7.R (GTLM).
The Viper SRT GTS-R did very well and the two racing in the GTLM class finished in 3rd and 6th place. The C7.R (#4) racing in GTLM finished in 5th place after spending 30 minutes in the garage at the 21 hour mark fixing a spun transmission bearing . #4 was in second place before the transmission problem.
The other C7.R (#3) finished in 10th place. #3 started at the back of the grid and worked its way up to first place at the six hour mark but then succumbed to overheating engine problems during the rest of the race.
Both the Viper and Corvette are very competitive and it's going to be an exciting season as these two battle it out in 2014. The Viper won this battle but the war has just begun. But we also have to contend with Porsche and BMW which finished, 1 and 2 respectively.
So who is the bigger rival in racing? The Porsche, Viper or BMW?
