phadt c7 tune

Does the stock program have noticeable throttle lag built in? Because if it does, I'm driving over to pfadt as soon as I get my car. They're local to me. Otherwise, I'll drive it completely stock for as long as I can hold off, which won't be long hahaha!!

With SLC weather, you may have to wait awhile. At least you don't have to go over Soldier Summit.

Yeah, the stock tune is definitely long in the tooth when it comes to throttle lag. That's one of the huge benefits the Pfadt tune has to offer you. We give you the most torque on demand your motor can deliver at any given moment....plus 20rwhp & 33rwtq. Come on over when you're ready and we can show you the factory!

The dyno numbers are apparently established...I am more interested from a cost benefit analysis what the tune nets for the price in practical performance gain. Or to look at it from another angle, ...how much additional gain is required to provide measurable benefit to acceleration and does the tune get you there - otherwise the 20-30 HP gain is more of a "so what".

To get the trap speed right, using 460 hp the car must weight 3400 lbs race ready (I am still convinced the LT1 is underrated for this reason).
3400 lbs / 460 hp = 11.26 @ 120
3400 lbs / 480 hp = 11.10 @ 121
3400 lbs / 490 hp = 11.02 @ 122
You will notice that so far, no stock C7 has run that low a time, but it shows you the potential of adding said power.
Say you're running a 12.0 now, you can expect a 0.2 boost from the tune.
That's what the math says anyway

I would say that it will be hard to get a repeatable 0-60 on the street (which I assume is what you are concerned about, as people on the drag strip usually don't care about that number), so factors like launch and shifting technique will probably make more of a difference than 20 hp...

The Pfadt tune is how the C7 should have been released. Worth every penny.

Seriously? A cost benefit analysis? On a $350, ($500 if you missed the intro price) upgrade to a $70K+ vehicle? IMO you are chasing smoke or blowing it. Don't think one should reasonably expect to be able to nail down better times with a HP increase of less than 5%. Maybe... But, the improvement in throttle response alone is worth it. And don't discount "subjective", all the driving articles really come down to a subjective evaluation. Seems most or all of us that have the tune are very pleased with the product. Great bang for the buck.
