C7 of Year Finalist (track prepared) 2019

Default Katech C7 Corvette Carbon Fiber Spoiler PICS!!

I'm pleased to announce that our carbon fiber spoiler for the C7 is moving along nicely. Design has been completed and we should have the first production parts in December. This is a full length spoiler that is a direct replacement for the Z51 and can be installed on the base model also. It is made from motorsports-quality carbon fiber all the way through and is not an overlay or hydrocarbon. We are taking pre-orders now and willl be shipping the first production parts sometime in December.

Any idea on additional downforce created? I guess this may compliment a front splitter in design stages?

We will be going to the wind tunnel to confirm, but the design was based on lessons learned from our C6 wind tunnel testing. You guess correctly. We will be needing something to balance out the front.

Love it... don't care for the single line the OEM one has across the top. Tones down a very dynamic rear end. This thing on a VY car in carbon with the side skirts LG just posted would be killer.

Glad you do. We'll have side skirts to go along with it.

Looks awesome!

Any chance you will be doing this spoiler in a painted non-carbon fiber material?

It's quite possible.

you can also make them in lightweight carbon fiber primed ready for paint.

I am running to work or I would take the time to photo shop my question but why does it not follow the trunk deck on the leading edge. I understand that the factory Z51 spoiler has a gap to let water drain? but I would like to see the spoiler follow the deck more. Can you share any input on to why you kept this small gap?

This area?

We used the factory spoiler as the base for the solid model. It will follow the base of the Z51 spoiler exactly.

For ease of manufacturing reasons, we're going to close that negative space up. That will allow us to move the parting line of the two halves down and hide it.

Looks fantastic! Wow. Please keep up the great work. While everybody loves to preach the importance of function (which I agree with) I love to see some great style mixed in with functional design. This is exactly that style.

Please consider lending the same "stylish" design to side skirts and front splitter, instead of just making straight edged horizontal pieces.
