LPE supercharges the new GM Gen V direct injection LT1 6.2L V8 engine!
#1
Lingenfelter Supercharged Gen V LT1 makes 720hp!
The engine is equipped with LPE ported cylinder heads, prototype camshaft and Magnuson TVS2300 C6 Corvette jackshaft style supercharger system adapted to the LT1. 3.2" pulley, stock damper and 1:1 rear drive ratio results in 15000 RPM max supercharger speed. Plenty more remaining in the supercharger. This engine will be on display at the 2013 SEMA show Booth # 25053

Man. Look at that TQ curve! That's just stooped! And at 7psi max boost. OMG. What's 9 or 10 PSI look like 900?

I hope this puts some pressure on GM to attach a lot of additional power to the new LT4 "Z model" price tag, especially if they are planning on approaching a six figure number.
For sure wide bodies, wheels and big brakes mean a lot, but for many the "most bang for the buck" is the bottom line.

That's a moot point though: GM doesn't scour Internet forums to see what aftermarket tuners are doing by voiding their warranties and then think "oh no, we better go back to the drawing board and increase power on our upcoming product!"
Not taking anything away from LPE, I am extremely excited that they are getting such good results, but you can't compare an aftermarket modified car to an OEM product. Plus, the LT4 can be modded to make more power too.

Besides that, with the c7's weight distribution and rwd, there is only so much power that can be put to the ground.....
Power is useless if you cant hookup.

Engines are developed much sooner than that since vehicle validation and cal can't happen until the engine is done. That engine has been developed for a while now.

It is one thing when the tuners are using different FI systems on different motors such as turbos or roots type on motors not offering FI from the factory.
However, when they use the same basic displacement blower on the same basic motor, if the big name tuners run away with the power numbers they will also run away with some of the sales numbers. This is something GM (or any original manufacture) would try to avoid as much as possible as long as they were not increasing warranty costs
Why do you think successful tuners like Callaway were able to make the deal they did with GM if GM was not wanting to keep as much in house as they could?

I could've sworn this thread was started by a vendor about supercharging the LT1...it's a darn shame that we have to go to LS1tech forum to read about it...where the thread over there actually stayed on topic.

Especially when you consider of all of the vendors out there....... LPE who is the OP of this thread is one of the few good ones who have been around for a while and warranty their work.

And back on topic. LPE has proven to build the most reliable powerplants in the industry. They are super reliable. And with over 600whp, their C7 will be a monster on the street or track! Great job!
