Don't be rude, the prior poster was not exhibiting any sort of hate whatsoever. You're the one perpetuating an argument and constantly beating your chest to establish that the new generation corvette is better and faster than the old one. I've seen you call a couple people "haters" in this thread and others who were just engaging in the conversation, but since they didn't start by saying "The C7 is the fastest corvette ever," you attack them. Get over it and stop being so sensitive. Let whatever 4th graders on a computer that are upsetting you go and entertain themselves, just ignore them and enjoy this time because it's not that often a new corvette is released.

I believe there is going to ultimately be a sizable difference in trap speeds as well.
My average trap speed yesterday was over 2 mph faster than the top 10 cars on the LS3 Fast List (when the anomaly 122 run was discarded). These cars are just going to get faster and faster.

unfortunately there is no C6 or C7 manual transmission that is perfectly geared for the 1/4 mile.

Why would it make any LS3 owner go nuts? A newer model with superior technology/engine and it should be slower than previous model?? Any C6 LS3 owner with even half a brain should realize the C7 LT1 is the faster car. NOBODY would buy a C7 if the performance was lower than a C6. It's almost saying back in 2005 the C5 LS1 is as fast or faster than the C6 LS2.

Scraping the splitter.
And a "magic track"? With 400' DA?
You're going to see them go much faster than this, so you'd better brush up on your adjectives. But I'm sure the "hero" runs made in C6 Z06's in -2000' DA at MIR and C6 LS3 passes made in 37* weather at Cecil with a "ridiculous tailwind" are just business-as-usual, right?

Great job snorman, very impressive. I remember you saying you said in a thread you were heading out to the track soon but never expected those times. When are you going back out again?

You do realize the majority of the best times from LS2, LS3, and C6 Z06 were made at these so called "magic fast tracks"... so its comparing apples to apples.

Nice run!!!
I knew the C7 automatics were going to be fast, but not this quick and not even in great weather.
I am going to hate light to light encounters with Automatic C7s, even with my 590rwhp GT500, but such is life with a manual tranny.
At least they won't pass me once I am moving.

I think I remember you ragging on the C7 a bit (as we should all have the freedom to do if we choose) but it's refreshing to see someone critical of the car NOT move the goal posts like others and you're even sticking up for the car where it is due. If only the rest of the "opposition" to the new generation was as reasonable as you are being.

I don't mind running T&T, but I've done so many rentals over the last few years that I'm spoiled, lol. I hate going to T&T, getting one pass, having somebody oil down the track and sit in the staging lanes for 2 hours while they clean up the mess. Spending 3-4 hours at the track and getting 3-4 passes sucks.

So you are speaking of manual trannys. This guy is an automatic so that is why I was thinking it was way over geared if it had 3.90s or 4.10s in the rear. Yo do not want 3.9 or 4.1 gears in an auto though......unless you have some seriously tall tires. The new 6-speed automatics have some serious out of the hole gears that are spaced pretty close thru 4th gear.
Now talking manual tranny cars you will need 4th gear in the 1/4 for the LS3 or LT1 if the manual tranny driver has any skill at all, and that goes for Z51 and non Z51 trannys. 4th is still 1:1 in both and should cross at about 51XX rpm if trapping at 120 mph.
The first 6 gears of the C7 with the Z51 is the same gearing as the C6 with Z51. Only now it has an extra OD for the 7th gear. Same thing with the non Z51 cars as they get just another OD gear.
