How do you compare that ringer to a production car?
It appears to be a 2015 MY production car:

Default Just a reminder

Ain't NO WAY GM did not record times for C7, I'd just love to know their reason for holding back. This is same video from September.

Default Yes there is a Way!

All evidence is that the Z28 was out there to do business and the Vette was out there for some tweaking and photo Ops. The Vette wasn't ever seen carrying the speed that the Z28 was.
I think they made the calculation they didn't have anything to gain. We all new what would be exceptable and if they didn't hit that!? Or if it did exceedingly well many people might make the calculation that they didn't need a more expense variant.
Lose/Lose!

Present the evidence. The p918 plus other cars including the Vette and the Camaro ran that record breaking day under the supervision of Sport Auto Magazine. The Vette either had a problem, the driver made a mistake or the time was slow. The window remained closed until the LaFerrari ran last month.

Look again...the Vette was running 10/10ths in more than one shot. We never saw either car in that video run a full lap so the rest is up for speculation what transpired during that day(s) at the RING. Maybe the C7 never put together a full lap at 10/10ths. Possibilities are numerous but there is data regarding "best lap for C7" even it was not perfect or published.

The ringer that lapped the ring is far cry from that 2015 GTR. Have you seen the wing? Most obvious difference. Also MT mentions tuned engine..additional aero tweaks. Also..whats with the camo? Are they hiding something else....?

I would imagine the z28 was insanely quick and possibly eclipsed or equaled the corvette. Hence the holdback on c7 lap time

Just a guess as 7.37 for the z28 is insanely quick. The fact that the track has some portion in the rain could have been a factor as well.

I'm betting the z28 with no a/c or radio and 305 s all around lapped equal to or quicker so gm is keeping the ring time quiet ....

I'm a corvette guy and not a trolling fool ....just voicing some possible logical explanation...

Default CCs are another way!

If the C7Z51 with the irons does well it discounts, and even discredits the use of the CCs (which the Z28 has) for the longer nasty track!
