This has been a popular upgrade for a long time. I recall doing this to my FE1 99 coupe and was shocked how much better the car handled with ZERO penalty in ride quality that many Z51 owner's spoke of. After 18 months I went all the way and replaced the rear bar with the C5 Z06 bar and was even happier.
I'm holding out for something aftermarket that would be an upgrade over the Z51 bars. One reason is for even tighter feel, the other reason is that aftermarket tubular sway bars weigh a lot less than factory sway bars.
Certainly. But for price/performance it sounds like a nice upgrade for most C7 oweners. As AFVETTE mentioned, this was a popular upgrade on the C6 and C5.

Factory bars are tubular (hollow)...Adding the rear bar, with hardware is 9.1 lbs.
