Pre-purchase questions
So, the C6 is (most likely) off to a new home this week and I'm looking at several C7s as its replacement. One of them has the DTW and TTV options. As this will be my daily driver, I'm wondering if prolonged exposure will cause issues with the stickers (I mean beyond normal wear and tear)?
Also, how good is the mag ride really? I know that on the C6 it really needs the Jim Mero touch to be "effective," so how well did Chevy do with this generation? Is Tour really a touring feel? I would like that on my commutes!
2014 stereo: does not have Car Play as an option, obviously, but can I play music through it from my phone?
What are the obvious issue to look at? I'm strictly a M7 shopper, so I can ignore the A6 and A8 issues. Z51 probably as I cannot afford a GS lol! What am I looking for?

2014 mag ride was OK for me. TOUR was comfortable while SPORT could rattle your fillings on rough roads. There is a newer calibration available from dealers - the cost was around $350. I did not get it. Mag ride and performance exhaust were both OPTIONS for 2014 my.
Yes, you can play music from your phone. It will show up as a Media source once the phone is paired. You can also copy the music onto a jump drive or SD card (2014-15 only).

The 2014 does not have CarPlay, but it does have HD radio and playback. Check out the details in the online manual available in one of the stickies at the top of the page.

The MSRC is totally unecessary, unless you track the car.
Tour selection in MSRC, is a more than Firm ride. I've got a 2017 with MSRC, I bought new.
Non-MSRC would be my choice. I'd install Hotchkiss anti-sway bars front and rear.
Mike Furman @ Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD. advised me to not buy MSRC, but of course, I didn't listen. Wish I would have.
Buying a C7 used is going to be a jumble of various options that any one car is equipped with. Should be a fun shopping experience!

I own a 2014, C7 with Z-51 package and M7, with 3LT interior. I don't have the mag ride and, (although this is very subjective), the ride is perfect for me. I realize this may depend on the road quality in your area but even my wife and other female family members who have ridden in the car have all commented that the ride is fine. I think GM did an amazing job making a track capable suspension that is also non-abusive around town.
My i-phone connects to the radio fine and plays Spotify or other sources plus you can use flash drives or the SD slot.
I'd absolutely buy the Z-51 package again. Love the performance gear ratios that the Z-51 package provides in the M7 cars.
Also - maybe you know this already but a quick underbody look at the rear shocks of cars you are considering,....yellow is non-Mag ride and black is Mag ride (as I've read previously).

I would definitely get the Magnetic Ride Control. I had it on my 2006 3LT Convertible and could not tell a difference between rides while pushing it down PCH going to Malibu. I thought it was a waste of money.
I also got it on my C7, 3LT, Z51, Convertible and I could feel the difference. I then did the Magnetic Ride Update really felt the difference.
I keep it Sport when I am by myself and put it in Touring when my Wife is in the car. She ges a little car sick in Sport. You can really tell the difference after the Magnetic Ride Update!
Have fun, the car is a blast!

The mag ride gets you more than it did on the C6. When you order Mag Ride on the C7 you also get the performance traction management system which was first introduced on the C6 ZR1 and then was an option on the 2011-2013 C6 Z06s as part of the Z07 package. The Tour Ride isn't bad in any of the C7s although the Z06/Z07 option was a little more harsh than the non-Z07 cars due to the stiffer suspension. Jim Mero did all of the suspension calibrations on the C7 and developed the upgrade GM offered to 2014-2017 owners of Mag Ride cars to reduce harshness in the Touring Mode and to improve track handling. GM is still selling the upgrade for $350 tax/included. I upgraded my 2015 Z06/Z07 6 years ago and the ride in Touring is better. The upgrade took the harshness out of small bumps, making for a smoother Tour ride.
Is it worth getting MSRC if you don't track the car? Yes. It will cost you a little more but more people will be looking for those cars when you sell so selling a car without it means it may take longer to sell.

Non magnetic ride cars get no suspensions settings in any mode. Base or Z51 your stuck with however that feels. The only things that change with the modes is steering feel, exhaust sound, & some(small) engine management.

Like me, I'm sure you have a budget to consider but starting in 2016 front facing cameras came with trim packages 2LT & 3LT. I'd think they would come in handy for you since you're going to daily the Vette.

Used cars always carry risks, performance/sports cars even more so. If you do not know the previous owner and he/she did not keep all records, or if multiple owners (more is definitely potentially riskier) consider continuing your search. When finding a potential purchase candidate, back-in-the-day when I still bought used, I'd always get the fewest options possible. Today, I would consider this even more important because of "out-of-stock" and expense considerations for replacement parts. Your call, of course; just my take. Enjoy whatever you get!

Regardless of what others say, mag ride to me is essential. My 2004, 208, and 2013 had mag ride, Now, my 2019 GS has it. To me, there is a noticeable difference in ride. If you get a 2014 to 2018 with mag ride, make sure you have the mag ride update installed (2019s had it updated at the factory. Now, recommend that you get the latest model year you can afford with the options you want. There were changes/updates each year, so that by 2019, this year had all of the updates offered on a C7. Good luck and let us know (pics) what you buy.

Mag ride is firmer than the base shocks in any mode but it's a "nice to have". Add sway bars to the base shocks and it firms up nicely if needed. NPP is a must. 2LT is the sweet spot for trim levels. The convertible is quieter than the couple inside. ZF1 appearance package makes the base look like a Z51.
