Weird AC temp situation
I have a 2014 Stingray and the AC works but trying to adjust the temp is a challenge. If I want it cooler, for instance, I turn down the temp control a little and nothing happens. Same temp coming out of the vents. So I turn it down a couple more notches and still no difference. Finally in desperation I crank it down to 68 and it begins to blow cold air. So, now trying to get it back up to where its comfortable is again a challenge. It doesn't seem to want to change temperature with small increments. This process is the same if I'm going for more heat. I'll adjust it a little and don difference. I'll do it again and still no difference so in desperation I'll crank it to 80 and suddenly I have way too much hear coming - although that would make my wife happy. Is there a sensor somewhere that might not be acting properly? If there is, with my luck it will be hidden way up behind the dash.
Thanks for any help!

May be low on refrigerant. Have that checked. At average temperatures, you may be cycling on and off in short bursts because of low refrigerant.
When you force it too low, it keeps the compressor on longer.
Just my .02.

This is my only real complaint with the car. My last couple of cars and my current truck all are much better. I would set the temperature once and then forget it; works in dead of winter and the heat of summer to keep me comfortable. In my C7 it's like in the old days were we have to manually change the temperature and fan speed. But it's a minor annoyance and nothing more to me; still by far the best car I've ever owned.

It might also depend on how quickly you change settings. I imagine there is some kind of temperature averaging going on so it doesn't cycle on and off all the time.

I'm told the outside temperature is part of what controls the h/ac system in the C7. It takes several miles of driving before the temp updates; when I pull out of my 60' garage when the outside is 20', it takes a couple of minutes for the system to sort it all out.
In normal operation, the system is still a bit sluggish in responding to inside temp settings.

It is kind of a trick getting the temp set just right on the car. Sometimes it takes a few adjustments to get things where it is comfortable.
