Car covers/winter storage

Car covers/winter storage
Looking for some recommendations for a cover. Newly acquired zo6 will be parked in a detached no climate control garage.
also looking for winter time storage idea to protect against rodents. Same location. How are the completely enclosed covers? How often do you start the car during the winter etc?
it’s being delivered today. Little nervous about the garage. I was reorganizing it this weekend trying to determine which bay to use and found evidence of rodents, it’s an older garage that’s been partially rehabbed. Did find rot on one side which is the likely entry point, working on sealing that up.
any tips/tricks

I've been using a car capsules for over ten years, Miata, Mustang and 370Z next winter it
will house my newly purchased Corvette. I store with a battery charger plugged in all winter. Put it away clean unzip it in the spring and go for a ride.

going to look into one. While it is a 3 bay garage it’s not very big if that makes sense. I should be able to shuffle things around and get on in there though

The car capsules are expensive but certainly do the job

Don't bother starting the car at all during storage. You'll do more harm than good. Only start your engine if you're going to drive the car for a half hour or more and get the oil up to full operating temperature for a while. Just hook up the battery tender and leave the car alone all winter long. Also, always store the C7 with a 1/4 tank of gas or less in order to protect the fuel level sending unit.

The car capsule that is available, while expensive, would do a good job of protecting the car during storage. I do not start my car during storage, just leave it sit hooked to a battery tender.
If the garage has rodents, put out some traps/bait and as you mentioned seal up any access holes in the building to help keep the critters out..

sealing up any opening is definitely step 1!!!
in addition i would throw down a dozen traps throughout the garage. just dont go walking in there when its dark.........

Little bitty guys are The danger for Corvette cars! You gotta get moth ***** and generally spread them around and in engine area. Just do it!

Then drive it on longer trips as often as you can, especially when it's colder out and that's when it takes longer for the oil to get up to temperature. Cars that are driven on short trips end up with more fuel and moisture in the oil, which is not a good thing obviously.

She’s home and now I’m hesitant to put her in the garage. Traps haven’t caught anything yet. It’d only be overnight . Hoping it’s registered soon and I’ll be driving it routinely.
thoughts? Is it more of a risk during long term storage?

An OEM indoor car cover for the Z06 or GS would fit best, lots of the third party ones don’t seem to cover the front splitter.
For rodents, I used peppermint spray I bought through Amazon. It’s marketed as vehicle rodent repellent and it seemed to do the job. Also covered up my exhaust tips with dryer sheets and placed more dryer sheets in my engine bay. 1/4 tank of gas and didn’t start the car up at all during its storage while connected to the trickle charger. This worked well for me. This was my first winter with a vette in the garage and she fired right up a couple weeks ago when I took her out of storage. Good luck

Keep multiple traps locked and loaded. And do everything in your power to ensure all possible entry points are sealed off.
