Strange Rattling Noise at Idle heard in the interior
Hello everyone,
As I continue to listen to my new 2019 C7 GS Manual (20k miles), I'm sharing what I find unusual so I can understand the car better. I'm hoping people here can identify what this rattle noise is. It looks like it's coming from the front and center area in the interior, a constant thumping rattling noise in the background during idle, after the start.
I'm also hearing water bubbling almost to go along with this. I'm new to the car and the noises of the LT1 and C7 drivetrain. Looking forward to your experiences. I had to cut the video to be able to upload here, hoping it's enough to hear the noise. Thank you,

Doesn’t sound normal but could be several things. It would be helpful to hear some moderate engine reving to hear when and how the noise goes away. Also, turn the hvac off completely before you make the video as it can contribute to some of these sounds. The easiest way to post a longer video is to download it to YouTube and then share the link.

The bubbling sound you hear is probably the dry-sump oil system. The GS, Z51 and Z06 all use the dry sump system. I often hear the passenger seat belt rattling so have to make sure it is tight and that the passenger seat is all the way back. If that doesn't solve it, not sure what else it might be.

A rattling noise while the car is in gear & your foot on the brake at idle could be a torque tube issue although with only 20k miles that doesn't seem likely

Good luck tracking down the source of the noises. Perhaps take a passenger along to help pinpoint the noises and I have actually found a mechanics stethoscope can help.

I also have the bubbling sound coming from the engine compartment at startup ,and since I have the Z51 with the dry sump the post saying it's the sump making the noise is probably right..

Thank you for all the great feedback. This is my first dry sump car so I will know it's the dry sump system now, very interesting !
I also took the car to a quick visit to a mechanic and they identified the source of the "chirping noise" at idle and rev was the "idler pulley" going bad. So we'll replace it. (this is the chirping/high pitch rattling noise heard in my second thread here titled "High Pitched Whirring/Rattle Sound when Revving".
For now we are thinking changing the pulley might fix this noise at idle too, we'll see. (the rattle noise I posted here sound different than the chirping on the other thread .The noise here is only heard at idle. Chirping is heard at idle and revving so fingers crossed they are related)
Do you guys know what could have caused the idler pulley to go bad in a 2019 car at 20k miles? I thought GM updated the pulley design for the later years, but didnt realize these could go this early.

The pulley is a known problem with the C7s. Some last 100,000, some go early.
