Default Tire Rotation for C7 Stingray?

I’ve been seeing mixed reviews of whether C7 stingrays are supposed to get tires rotated or not. My dealer at Bonmin Chevrolet says that I shouldn’t get them rotated. I switched to these all season tires and was wondering if anyone has suggestions if I should be getting them rotated?

The Corvette manual covers this and states you should swap your fronts and rears.

Since the sizes are staggered you can't go front <==> rear.

If your tires are directional you also can't go front <==> front or rear <==> rear.

If your tires aren't directional then yes, swap front <==> front or rear <==> rear.

My Z51 has 19/20. No rotation possible on my car.

Elmer:
Our 2014 owners manual, Pages 10-56 and 10-57, does say we can rotate the tires, so it is possible to swap sides, just not front with rear tires. The only way you can't rotate tires are if you later later replaced your tires with direction-limited tires. I had Michelin directional tires on my 1997 Jaguar XK-8 and there was no rotation possible with those.

Tire wear is my key for rotation. I don't need to rotate.

I'll time out in tire age (8-year max) recommended replacement interval, way before I'd run out of tread from mileage, on my 2017.

I know that feeling. I have never rotated my tires in any Vette I have owned, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do so per the owner’s manual.

I have owned BMW's, both staggered and not, and per BMW have never rotated any of their tires. I was told by BMW techs that their stance is that the benefit of rotating tires on their vehicles is not enough to offset the labor involved in doing so. I've never rotated them on my BMW's and I won't rotate them on my C7. Just my two cents.

I rotated them on my ‘19 GS…only because I had all 4 wheels off swapping the dirty brembo brakes with Power Stops

so what the heck rotated them side to side

Sure there is. Side to side as explained in the OM.

Let me put it a different way.

I've never rotated the tires on my 2 Corvettes. I will continue that process.

Yes, I know the tires can be rotated per the owner's manual, so there's that.

Unless your tread dictates it, no need to mess with rotation on a low mileage Corvette. Especially side to side rotation.

I do not do side-to-side rotations on any of our 6 cars with staggered setups.

Every time I have ever rotated tires the car either pulled to one side or the steering wheel was off center.

I gave up rotating tires 20 years ago.

When any tire or tires are worn to the point of replacement then they all need to be replaced.

Agreed...I generally have never done this on my sports cars or daily drivers...the one time I decided to with a newly bought vehicle, I found that it didn't extend the wear at all so stopped doing it from then on.

I have a good alignment and figure I make as many left turns as right turns. So I dont do a rotation.
