Interstate Battery experience on C7
Anyone have experience with using Interstate battery brand as AC Delco battery replacement?
I have a 2019 GS and am thinking of replacing the battery before I encounter any problems with the battery's age,
Costco sells a 36-month battery for $120, non-AGM battery, with 730 Cold cranking Amps. That's a better price than AC Delco or Die Hard options.
.
I recently viewed C & S Corvette's youtube video on batteries, where Lyle mentioned that his shop uses Interstate batteries when they install a replacement.
I like his videos and trust his advice...
Anyone have experience with Interstate Battery? I assume it can be vented.

I would stick with the AC Delco
I've tried the green interstate battery, it died in 2 years, I went back to the AC Delco. Working good for 4 years now. I replaced the factory battery just for the hell of it, and it still working , I have it in my ATV in the front basket. In the winter my batteries are always on a trickle charger. I would stick with the AC Delco...

Melting Slicks
Replaced my six year old OEM battery with an Interstate AGM battery on my 2017 GS just a few months ago with no problems. Have had no problems with Interstate batteries in any of my cars for decades now. I
remember when Consumer Reports rated them number one in a test years ago and have been using them ever since.

C&S / Lyle say some things that are kind of ehhhh sometimes. I don't have a C7 (yet) but I have used interstate on my C5 and all my other cars and trucks. Used to work in a shop that sold Delco, Interstate and Optima batteries. I always liked Interstate and never had a problem with them.

Burning Brakes
I had an Interstate battery installed in my 2016 Stingray last year. So far, so good. They did not charge extra for installation and it has a three year full replacement warranty.

here is a vague but positve review of my Interstate battery
i bought my 2014 in 2021 with 34k miles on it and a green interstate battery.
no paperwork.
date code not punched on battery.
so it could be 3 years old,
it could be 7 years old.
i have had it load tested by the local interstate dealer twice. For free. It passed, in "like new condition"
the car also lives on my Norco Trickle Charger whenever it is in my garage.
so far, so good.

I just replaced my battery. The stock gm battery lasted 7 years. I promptly bought another factory battery. It's only $200 people. If saving $35 is that important or critical to your budget for the car, I would think about my choices of vehicle I drive.
Maintenance is the most critical part of owning an vehicle. Spending more (even as little as $20 ) often pays you back.
Just my experience, definitely not trying to shame anyone here.

I recommend that if you do it yourself, take the panels and floor piece out. The cables are complex and hard to get out of the way while trying to bend the floor panel and not break it. It takes about an hour to do it right if you are confident with interior skills. You'll be happy when you avoid cable issues and loose or broken parts.
I also always use battery terminal spray protector. Best $5 you can spend to protect the integrity of your connectors.

Mostly positive reviews for the Interstate battery in this thread. I went with the AC Delco the last time I replaced the battery and have been pleased. Probably another year or so before I swap it out again and will keep the Interstate brand in mind.

Intermediate
I have used Interstate batteries for many years and currently have them in 3 other vehicles that are starting perfectly in all kinds of weather conditions.
The one that lasted the longest was installed in my Mustang Cobra that sat on a trickle charger and it finally died after about 11 or 12 years.
