Insurance question - NCM Users
I know this topic has been covered before ad nauseam, but I guess I'm a glutton for punishment for even asking. I know that there are many variables in coming up with a cost quote for car insurance, including age, driving record, past accidents, where you live, deductibles, coverage levels, etc. etc. etc.
i have an AIG policy for my home, auto, and umbrella liability. Recently the rate for my home is Texas went up 70% (with zero claims). When I added the new Corvette to the auto policy that already has my wife and my daily drivers, as well as two existing collector vehicles I own (1953 Chevy pickup and 1967 Jaguar E-Type) the rate for the Corvette was eye watering, at least to me.
I now have quotes from Grundy, Hagerty, and the National Corvette Museum for coverage of the Vette and the collector cars, leaving the daily drivers with AIG. The quotes from Grundy and Hagerty are within $200 or less of each other. The annual savings from AIG is only about $500, which honestly isn't enough to motivate me to change given the driving restrictions and the 34 year relationship with my insurance agent. The quote from NCM (same coverage levels as AIG, Grundy, and Hagerty) is one half of the price of the Corvette with AIG alone. The savings from AIG to NCM is almost $2000 per year.
With all of this as background, my question is only for past or present NCM Insurance customers. Have you had any claims? How well were they handled? Have you found the driving restrictions to be cumbersome? Have you had to document your odometer mileage each year? Any regrets with NCM?
Thanks in adance.

NCM will take care of any claim should you have one, just understand the restrictions that go with the policy

I believe all three have restrictions on running errands and driving the car to work. Only Grundy didn't have the mileage restrictions. I'm in the process now of trying to insure a C7 and Grundy looks like it will be the best for me. Grundy was half the price of Haggarty and NCM was about the same as Grundy. I have a clean record and live in suburban/rural area.

I agree with Grundy, I have two vehicles insured with them at what I consider to be a reasonable rate that hasn't risen. I used to be with Hagerty but when I changed vehicles, Grundy offered a better rate on the same coverage. Grundy has no mileage restrictions, the only stipulations with their policy is the vehicle is not supposed to be your daily driver and that the vehicle has to stored in a secure place. Both of mine are in my basement. I have never had to file a claim on either vehicle so I can't speak on that.

I can speak to that. Grundy was the cheapest of five companies contacted for my 2019 GS M7 vert. Currently $891 per year. Not a DD and is garaged. No mileage restrictions that I can recall. I had my policy for less than 6 months last year (my first year with them!) when two wheels cracked. Grundy covered the $2k cost for new GM OEM ZR1 wheels plus install and balance. Go Grundy! Good luck to you on your search...

Signing up with NCM. Their rates are very good for me. Currently paying $1900/yr with State Farm, I had no idea until I itemized my bill. Hagarty was $1346/year. NCM is $702/year. Mileage of 6k/year. I spoke with them about this as I may go over. so long as it isn't significantly over every year, no problem. If you have a claim and you are significantly over, you may be refused renewal for next cycle after the claim is paid. Signing up has been very easy so far.
If it looks like I am going over by quite a bit, I will call and let them know, just full disclosure.

I have NCM for my Corvette and they are TOP NOTCH in all respects. NCM agents answer your calls directly without having to go through hoops as well, and they take your CC premium payment right over the phone. I have had one claim with them for a cracked windshield and they handled it very quickly! Fully replaced with a new OEM glass by Safelite in just a week. NCM does not require a bunch of BS forms either to be filled out, just some photos. 1k 3k and 5k mile limit per year so you decide which one fits you best. Highly recommend NCM.

Ok cool, I got a quote from them today which I think I'm going to go with. The reason I asked is that I got the 1K mile a year plan(I hardly drive it, 500 miles last year) but I don't inspect my car so no mileage is recorded anywhere.

Hagerty quote was almost 3 times the price I got from NCM. I have been with NCM since I bought my 2017 Stingray coupe new. About $700/ year agreed value. They've never asked about milage every year at renewal. I haven't had a claim but hear they are good with that.

Hagerty is ridiculous, same as you about 3 times higher. I now pay $642 every 6 months with Geico, NCM quoted me $482 for a year for the same coverage and deductibles. Probably going to switch on renewal at the end of the month.
