Default Aventador style tailights

Hey Guys,
Has anyone put the Morimoto Aventador style taillights on their C7? I Was thinking about ordering these but concerned about compatibility and function once installed. Thx in advance for any input.

I've been running them for about 6 months with no issues. I had to remove the rearend to fix a broken tailight mount. So while I was in there I decided to replace the OEM lights for the hell of it. I love the look. I figure that, now that Chevy has gotten away from the traditional round tailights, anything goes. I haven't seen any others in my neck of the woods. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. 😄

I personally think they’re ugly.

So do I. There are a few YouTube vids on the replace process.

I have seen one C7 around here that has those taillights on the car. They are really noticeable and I think they look pretty good.

i became tired of people commenting about my "Camaro" lights on my C7

i found two videos about Morimoto, one saying they were bad and he took them out,
another saying they did not fit correctly so he replaced them with these

https://www.paragonperf.com/Auto-Rev...CBR_p_453.html

i have had them installed for a year?

and the only comments i have received from the local club members have been positive.

Personally, I don't like them, but if you do go for it, its your car and you shouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks. Before you get them, I have read that using these taillights in conjunction with led side markers and/or different headlights can (in some instances) cause some issues and overload the electrical system, making a taillight or headlight not work properly. I have also seen some threads about how the sequential light function sometimes does not work. I think there was a post on here about it recently... Not trying to be negative at all, I just wanted to make sure you aware of these potential issues that I saw if you plan on doing these taillights or any additional led lighting so you don't run into unexpected problems. Anyway good luck.

in my situation,

i have, as mentioned changed out the taillights,
which are much more interesting than the stock Camaro lights.

i have also changed out the side marker lights.

a year later,
i have had ZERO issues

Thats good to hear. Maybe it was only when doing everything, headlights taillights and reflectors. I’ll link one of the threads I was referring to below for reference as I just found it. After rereading seems it happens when you do all of the lighting in LEDs (Morimoto or other LEDs), so if you are only looking to swap the taillights, you should be good to go then. Just wanted to mention it as I’m sure that it would be a massive pain to fix up the electrical system when you didn’t think you had to if you are planning for more than just doing the taillights.

I've never had anyone liken stock C7 tail lights to a Camaro's. IMO, the C8's tail lights look more like a Camaro's than ours do.

I've never heard anyone say that either. Sequential lights are either a Mustang, exotic or some Dodge feature...never a Corvette's. But, again, to each his own.

I have a set on my car-love the look. I also installed Oracle LED side markers and LED rear reflectors since I had the bumper off. I have absolutely no issues with any of the LED lights on the car. The only complaint I have is the Morimoto tail light bezels couldn't be snapped into place correctly so the lower corners keep popping loose. The general conscientious on the forum is you either like them or hate them so to each his own.

Morimoto makes quality products so I would bet that they will fit & function as expected, that being said I don't like the looks of them, but I never liked the stock taillights on a C7 either

You might wish to check on others' experiences with Morimoto electrics first.

since we're giving our inflation adjusted $.02

I'm not crazy about the heat exchanger vents being black ... gives the taillights a weeping look. should be the color of the body, perhaps?

Honestly Iwish we could have a c6 style backlight sometimes but I wouldnt get the aventador style backlights. Just not the car for it I would much rather see a hurrican style backlight.
