i strongly prefer a c7 over a c8, here are my top 3 reasons; do they make sense?

Can I ask what the specs you are referencing are? ERay, I suspect is going to be faster, all things equal.

A base c8 is literally bottom of the barrel.

Next summer any road any race track of your choice, delusional C8 rhetoric.. please save that brand of crazy for the C8 section... I am sorry, I try to be level.. but that statement is the silliest I have heard yet.. I have driven the anemic C8.. better faster or anything, compared to a Z07 or ZR1?.. just ridiculous I respect your right to any crazy delusion you have and will defend your right to say it but damn crazy stuff right there.. you need to get out and not read about things..
6-years now, with my bought new 2017 Stingray M7 convertible. I'm good! 👍

Totally expected responses on a biased C7 Forum.
I've owned numerous C5Zs, C6Zs and my C7Z ZO7. Was always an Auto Hater until I drove a C8 on the track at Speed Vegas
I have nothing against C6s or C7s. I owned the 1st C7 that Lingenfelter put a Supercharger on. My son Won 1st Place at Holley LS Fest Stick Shift with his C6 ZR1 April 2023. Ran 9.63 @ 151.6. He also has a Plaid. Fast but Boring
Just saying we have a lot of experience with late model Vettes.
I know you all love your 7s but perhaps be a little open minded and educate yourselves. You may be surprised. like I was.

Car availability is coming back to pre-Covid levels. To a certain point. Auto manufacturers are also looking to keep less stock but if we have to keep stock it will be less choice.
You want to see this in action, right now the Build and Price is available for both a 2023 and a 2024 F-150. Go look at the engine, axle, and 4x4 options significantly reduced based on trim level. Like you can't get upper trims with anything but a 3.5L TT or Hybrid and 4x4 is standard. The axle choices are 2-3 versus 10.
This is what GM did with removing the manual. Less complexity. Less tuning, less engineering work. Do I agree, no. I like my car to be highly customizable. But in the age of Tesla, its more important to have a good infotainment system and make money on subscriptions than have a car that drives well. Teslas are fast, but supremely boring. I've driven a few and I'm unimpressed once you get past the instant on torque.

Well, ..... my point is simple...The C8 is selling in record numbers! It is not as pretty as my current 19 C7, but lord willing I will eventually get one too...there sill never be another front engine Corvette...like it or not, GM made the right call for the Corvette future!!!!

A lot of us just hate that it looks terrible and has no manual option. In addition, the gains from c7 z06 to a c8 z06 are marginal vs price ratio.
We also dislike being told that a c8 bottom of the barrel stingray is remotely close in performance to a c7 z06 on the track/strip. :-)

If the goal is drag racing, then yes mid engine C8 has advantage with weight distribution and the DCT.
If the goal is road racing, then C8 Stingray is very fast but still slower than any widebody C7.

We aren't referring to who is a faster driver.
