Default Motion sensor issue

My interior motion sensor doesn't seem to be working anymore. I made sure it was on and when I locked the car and reached in not a peep out of the car. I waved my hand around, grabbed my jacket from the inside...nada. Any ideas on troubleshooting?

Do you have the roof off? It is disabled when you do.

Out of curiosity is that true with a convertible as well? I have the hard targa roof myself but asking just to know.

This is supposed to be automatic? Mine is explicitly toggled with a button that my knee likes to hit.

the switch is above the visor on the driver's side. The switch is open when you remove the top. You can put something in the hole, like a plastic molly, to close the switch. I don't know what would happen if it's locked and you remove the molly - does it stay armed and motion detecting or not - I'm not sure.

The "switch" that is in the A pillar is only for the coupes. The convertible does not have that feature.

Also, where is the FOB when you test?
Is the alarm light on the dash indicating that the alarm is set?
Do you have the roof off? It is disabled when you do. (Woodson)

That explains it. I did have the roof off. Would be nice if it worked with the roof off, but I can see issues with that. Thought the one time chirped on me the roof was off, but apparently it wasn't.

I heard it was designed that way so that leaves falling in etc don’t trigger the alarm. I don’t know if that is true or not but it is definitely designed that way. Very interesting though that the convertible is not. I wonder why not. As sounder said, the switch can be easily overridden if you want.
