Default Establish Car Value?

What source are people using to establish a fair sale price for their Vets/ I think I'm ready to sell mine and have no interest in working with dealers.

The dealer will low ball you big time of course.. Just go on cars.com or similar, look up some cars with your mileage and options and price it accordingly. If no one contacts you , lower it a bit. That's all you can do. Or contact Carmax , I heard they have been buying cars at a decent price.

Autotempest.com is supposed to be a nice aggregate site that looks up multiple car websites in one search. See if you like it. If not, I default to autotrader and do a nationwide search. Current asking prices is the best to hope for.

Get quotes from Carvana, Vroom, etc and see what they offer. They are usually a bit higher in value than a dealer, but not as high as what a private party sale could be.

Thanks for tips. The car is slightly modded (No Cam)with bolt-ons and dealers tend to deduct for mods. Maybe time to remove mods. Would rather sell to someone who can appreciate extra HP. Decision time.

Finding that person is hard as some people aren't sure of mods because they don't know if installed correctly. Then a large number don't want modded cars as evidenced by the cars that are for sale. It is best to put the car back to stock and sell your mods separately.

Definitely put it back to stock and sell the performance mods. If looking at two identical cars, one modded, one stock I would take the one that was stock even if the asking price was higher.

Can this wait till late winter where you might be getting a better price?

I like to look at eBay and see what it SOLD for to get an idea. I don't care what you ask for it. I care what is sold for,

I'm in agreement with those who say return it to stock. I too wanted nothing to do with modded Corvettes when I bought the C5 used and the C7 used. With the C5 I was offered modded cars at prices below stock C5s right here on the C5 forum.
As for waiting to sell, I wouldn't. I've been watching the C8 inventories on Autotrader. Used C8 inventory is climbing steadily up to well over 2600 units and used C8s available under 80K is almost 400 cars. The point here is, the C8 is primed for a price drop this winter and that will affect C7 prices. I'd take the car back to stock and list it as soon as it's ready.
Of course if GM goes on strike for an extended period of time, all bets are off.

Location will have more impact. Near me all C7's are expensive. And they are selling. Stingray's are 50-55K. The GS's are 63-65K. Z06 are 70K+.
