Are you going to the Black Hills Corvette Classic?
As some or most know the BHCC is next week and I'm curious how many CF members are attending. I haven't kept track but I'm thinking this will be my eighth to tenth time out there since I got my first vette 14 years ago. Our club, the Sioux Falls Corvette Club used to organize and coordinate everything however last year those duties were taken over by the Spearfish Holiday Inn and Convention Center.
As with many things the Chinese Chickenpox screwed it up and it was cancelled in '20 but Jerry's Chevrolet in Beresford SD, who has always been a faithful and vigilant supporter of the event, organized an impromptu "rally" in Sept of that year and had a very good turnout. I actually preferred doing it then as both the favorable weather and lack of tourists made for less congestion in some areas. We used to have guided tours to various places led by volunteers from the club which I really enjoyed. Just something about a few dozen cars caravaning to Devil's Tower, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood/Leads etc. The drag racing and autocross events are fun to watch if you choose not to participate as well.
I'm still deciding what car to take though. The '16 'vert gives me the whole open, top down experience but it's a Z-51 with no magride so it's a bit of a rougher ride overall whereas the C8 is a HTC with magride which makes for IMO a better road trip car.
Just wanted to get an idea how many in the C7 section are going.

Some day, perhaps I will go - just not this year. Knee surgery put a damper on most activities this summer.

My wife and I have attended the BHCC many times, but ever since the SFCC turned it over to the Spearfish Holiday Inn, I have lost interest in it. We decided to attend Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend instead this October. This year will be our 4th time attending Eureka Springs. We will however attend Hot Summer Nights at the fairgrounds.

Was just through there 2 weeks ago on my motorcycle and saw this advertised. Did 6k miles in 15 days, 15 states. Deadwood got real old real fast.

Just got back
Went for the first time this year, was a fun road trip from Colorado Springs for the C7. Met lots of nice folks and had a good time. Always wanted to go before, but seemed a bit far for our old C3

I led 15 Corvettes there from Colorado Springs, CO. It was very subdued from the last time I was there a number of years ago. Probably half the number of Corvettes in the days before the Holiday Inn took it over. Here are some photos.

Were the tours and hotel support still good? Other comparisons?
Thanks!
