Default Parking lot woes

Hey guys I just thought I would put a little humour in our discussions here.......

Have you ever noticed that when we park our corvettes the farthest possible distance from where we want to go......THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOMEONE WHO PARKS RIGHT BESIDE US. OMG....they have the entire parking lot to park and where do they park..........right beside us.....It just frustrates me to no end. Perhaps parking beside a corvette makes them feel better I don't know....but right beside us........LOL...LOL

Is it written somewhere that everyone has to crowd us where no one ever parks.....just to be beside a corvette.......LOL...LOL...LOL

Just a little humour for us ....hope you get a laugh........

Many years ago, I had a Honda Del Sol I got new in '94. It was a great little car that was fast and pure joy on a mountain or canyon road.

I used to run a lot back then and I would park a long distance from where I was going. I would come out and find a POS right next to me, even though there were 10 rows of empty spaces between me and other cars.

That car was hit seven times while it was PARKED! At least I did not have to pay a deductible.

When I see a Corvette "remote parked" in a lot, I park my Corvette next to him - at a respectful non-door-dinging distance, of course. That way, at least one side of his car is safe. If he was smart and parked at an end space, then both sides were safe. Did this once and came back to a note on my car - at first I was afraid it might be a "Why the hell did you have to park there?" note . . . but no, the other Corvette was gone and the note had one word on it: "Thanks."

I have been driving Corvettes for some time now seeing my first was bac in 1968. But I believe the issue here is those people see a Corvette or any specialty car parked way out they figure that I will park next to them to show they are not any more special than the next person. They you have those that park on an angle taking up two spaces and those definitely draw attention. If I need to take the corvette to a shopping center or similar location, I never park out in no-mans-land, I just make sure I parked as close to being in the center of the space as possible. So far no door dings.

I go out of my way parking next to nice cars, because I know they won't ding my car.

My ex had these in her glovebox, ready to go under wiperblades:

Because the doors are long and you need extra room.

Yep, just happened to me yesterday!!! I was at an outlet mall and I swear there couldn't have been but 15 cars in the entire parking lot. They were all bunched up in one area, so I parked way the hell away from them. I came out and there was another car parked next to me and we were the ONLY cars parked that far out. There must have been a hundred spaces to choose from, and they chose the one next to me. I didn't have my phone to take a pic of just how absurd it was!! It's amazing how much stupid is in the world today!!

Ohioans are notorious for this. No matter where I park, someone also manages to park right next to me. I've even parked in nearly abandoned lots near stores, and still had others park by me. I'll never understand 🤷
