I am in the class of a "fussy old man" when it comes to the vette. I have a horror story about discount tire.
In for an air leak in my right rear tire. They do this for free. As the tire was off, a young (stress young) worker bee needed the air tool and the socket that had been used on my car. As he leaned over to move the air tool past my car, guess what the socket did from the end of the air tool? Came off and now guess where that socket landed, skidded and rolled on it's way to the ground. If you said "Trunk deck" you'd be a winner. Welp, they have glass so you can look in and watch things. I was watching... I said a rather loud "F-Bomb" and headed to the bay where my poor car had sustained a gazillion dollars damage to the paint. Well, not that much but a big hickey, and smaller ones as it had bounced on it's travel to the floor. The car was up on a jack (at the correct lift point on my puck) and after I calmed down and said my version, the young guy, who was close to tears and totally frustrated and mad at himself, went though his version of the "horrible" car crushing accident. At the end, he frustratedly slapped the handle of the jack holding my car up. Raise your hand if you said, he twisted the handle slightly and the car dropped to the ground on to the jack. It crushed my ACS skirt, brought out 2 "F-Bombs" from me and a marked rise in my already pegged blood pressure. Right at that time, the young man was sure he was fired, gonna be fired, gonna get shot by a crazy old man with the F-Bombs and the young man was looking for anything close that he could hide under. The manager stood there, jaw hitting the floor, the kid had eyes as big as saucers and I'm yelling "Jack the damn thing up! Jack it up.
I turned and took a short walk to regain what ever dignity I could muster and came back to the scene of the disaster.
The manager said, "Don't worry, we'll fix everything as good as new."
They did. New skirt, paint repair from the shop of my choice, and not a wimper about the ACS price. They were very good about the incident and I STILL prefer to do business with the same store. Poo happens. I really hope the young man didn't get fired and learned a lesson on actions around cars that are up on jacks!
BTW, they also fixed the air leak in the tire.

@eboggs_jkvl my goodness my blood pressure was increasing just reading your story! Our apologies, most certainly and I'm sure it's been said many times. Although the employee would not be terminated for such an incident, I can assure you he learned a valuable life lesson and will remember your vehicle forever. It's great that they where able to get the damage taken care of and we are glad it did not deter you from doing business with us in the future.

We use DT for all of our vehicles. Our children also use them as they are great imo and have stores practically everywhere ! So if you need anything tire related for your car, you can get service at other DT’s while you’re traveling .

My "Corvette Guy" at my dealership matches any price.. he is only one I trust mounting my wheels. Just had him install my new Super Sports a month ago, I do just bring in wheels. I hear DT is pretty good, but it depends on the local DT, not all the same. There is one by me I wouldn't let them put a tire on a go kart for free. You have to make sure they keep guards current on the machine and are capable of mounting such a wide tire on a wide wheel, some not as familiar with these sizes. Due diligence on whomever you choose recommended

@Bayshore Vette we are sorry that our store representative did not take advantage of our Low Price Promise to adjust the price to beat the competitor.
Interesting. Tire price match is one thing, but the DT store that I usually deal with wouldn’t match the bottom line price (tires, mounting, balancing, stems, and road hazard warranty) I received from Costco. I like DT, but $150.00 is $150.00…

Curious on your tires...do you notice any difference in the current version of Super Sports over the OE TPC Super Sports?

I originally came with Sport Cup 2's, I loved them on the track on the street they took a bit to warm up. I love the Super Sports on the street so far

I had Discount Tire put new Michelin A/S 4’s on my 2016 about 5-6 weeks ago. They did a great job and took good care of my chrome Z06 rims! I let them know how particular I was about my car and they understood. I know that each store is different but I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. And, I absolutely love the ride of the All Season tires.

So I’ve decided to get AS tires soon, but one thing I’m worried about is, should I expect damage from removing the factory stick on weights.
I suspect they are original to the car and new wheel weights never go on the same spots. So has anyone else had the stick on weights removed from the gloss black wheels and did it tear the finish up on the rim.
Thanks in advance!

@Chevyrelic we know that at times there will be a promotion that a competitor is running that we are not. The store location that you used should have honored the price. Shoot us a DM on the forum and we can assist you with pricing and set up an invoice at your nearest Discount Tire store.

Get a set of jack pucks and make sure they use them.
I had a Discount Tire crack a rocker panel on my C6 years ago by jacking it incorrectly.
I've had lots of interactions with DT since then and no problems though.
