Pilot Sport All Season 4 vs Pilot Super Sport
I'm getting new wheels for my Z51 and I'm in between the pilot super sports and all season 4s for tires. My car came with all season 4s when I bought it used so I've never experienced the super sports. I live in South Florida so I don't experience any cold weather, but rainy season can be bad sometimes. Any suggestions? Thanks

IMO, if you don't push your car hard on the street (like I tend to do), you probably won't notice much of a difference between the two. After 2 years of C7 Z06 ownership, switching between the 2 as the cold/warm seasons change, I find both of them (being run flats) to ride equally harsh over sharper & larger bumps. On good roads their both equally quiet. But, as the Super Sports get around 15K miles, they start to get some tread noise. I haven't put enough miles on the AS4 to find out if they get noisier with more miles.
However, if you do push your car hard on the street, you will appreciate the significantly sharper handling & seemingly infinite capabilities of the Super Sports. When driven aggressively, the AS4 simply cannot match their performance & feel. On a Z06, the differences between the 2 tires are obvious. I am not looking forward to putting all season tires back on the car in October, when it starts getting colder where I live.

You don't drive a Corvette for the 'smooth ride', but all-season tires will give you a little more compliance due to the softer sidewall. My '14 Stingray came with Michelin PS all-season 4's and I was skeptical until I drive it a bit. Now I'm all in. The ride isn't quite as harsh and I've got better traction and control when it does rain. Plus, I don't have to park the car if the temps fall below 45 degrees (probably not an issue in Florida).

I’m sure that if you are a professional driver on a dry track, the Super Sports would give you somewhat better lap times and somewhat crisper steering response. On the other hand, if you are just an enthusiastic car guy like most of us, the seat of your pants would be hard pressed to tell the difference, and the Super Sports would actually be poorer in the rain. Perhaps more importantly, while the Super Sport price is only about 25% higher, the all seasons will give nearly twice the tread life (UTQG treadwear rating 300 for Super Sport versus 540 for all season). Thus, the cost of ownership for the Super Sports is about twice as high.

I have all season Michelins on my car (A/S 3+ ZP) and really like them. Whether you want to go with the ZP tires is up to you.

I put Super Sports on my 2019 GS and have been very happy with them. I'm in Southern California, so, like you, temperatures are not usually a problem. I tend not to drive it in the rain, however, have been caught out. Haven't had any problem in the wet - I use the Weather setting and drive accordingly. To me the Super Sports seem a little quieter than the original tires.

I run both AS/3 and PSS on my slightly modded'19 M7 Z06. From mid May till early October, I run the PSS on a set of ZR1 wheels. The grip is noticeably different between the two when I go for spirited drives. You will get more mileage out of the all seasons. PSSs are good for 10k miles or so.

I wore out my OEM PSS tires on my 2019 Z06 in the past half year and replaced them with the PS4 A/S ZP tires now standard on the C8 Stingrays. No complaints and I am happy with them. Not really had a chance to drive in a heavy downpour yet but I am sure they will be far better than PSS and PS2 all summer tires I have had on past Z cars. Those tires were absolutely scary at posted freeway speeds in a heavy rain. I had PS3+ on a 2007 vert and they were fantastic in the rain!!

If you don't care about run flats the Pilot Sport 4S rides much better than the Super Sport ZP's and is a great summer tire.
Having had both on my Z51 I can tell you the Sport 4S does not tramline all over the road and has a bit softer ride. It is not quite as quick on turn in but has same or better overall grip.

Michelin summer tires will do better in rain than an all season. The rubber compound will generate more temperature.

If you have a z06 I'd suggest the super sports because of the extra horsepower. It's no fun having power when the tires aren't as sticky. I live in AZ and bought the super sports. I have zero complaint and have had zero rain issues (yes, it does rain here)

I had the SS on my 370Z. H o r r I b l e if you get caught in the rain. Switched to AS, it was much better. And, I live in Ohio so it extended my driving season 🤗

The Continentals have a rounded sidewall & a noticeably narrow tread. I'm not a fan of either. But it has zero impact on their performance.
For the Z06, if you want non-run-flats, Continental is your only choice for OEM sizes. I was very tempted to try the Proxes Sports, which are available in 10mm wider sizes; but the limited number of reviews that I found on them were not favorable.
