Default Windshield Reflection of C7 2LT Dash

Someone else must be also experiencing this problem. The dashboard in my C7 reflects onto the windshield. It’s not a serious problem but it’s annoying. Has anyone discovered a cleaner or coating for the dashboard that will eliminate the reflection on the windshield?

Thank you. JR

I can't say I've experienced this but you want to be careful with what products you put on the dashboard. It could cause some damage to the material.

Mine doesn’t bother me. I’m using Jax Wax leather product on mine. It’s got a nice low key sheen, no shine. Smells like, and actually looks like a new baseball glove.

Never had that problem on my 2LT car. By chance has the dash been coated with some kind of protectant, thus making the dash reflect onto the windshield?

I’m thinking that that was what caused the problem. I’ve had this car only since November.

Likely some completely unnecessary “car care” product used on the dash. A damp cloth is all that is needed.

My 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2019 all bought new always did it, around the HUD area so I find it suspicious when people say they don't have a reflection. Maybe it's my line of sight? No I never put anything on my dash or interior.

Ican't tell you how many times I have this feeling while learning about my car on the forum! Even so, keep the threads coming!

I lay a piece of black cloth over the left half of the dash. It GREATLY improves the view in all daytime lighting conditions. It stops short of the HUD, and doesn't interfere with it.

Our 2017 2LT has never had anything on the dash except a damp black small towel to remove the dust. It too sometimes gets the reflections others talk about, but I ignore it. Annoying but doesn't actually effect our visibility much.

If you have to use a detail product on the dash, make sure it is a satin or flat. Anything shiny will cause that glare.

Polarizing lens, as I'm sure has already been mentioned. Hardly just an issue with late Vettes.

Ok here is all the proof you need, I think other people saying they get no reflection, quite frankly I'm calling BS.

Damn, that is horrible! Love that red dash, but the glare! My black dash glare is not even close to that bad. I would have to get a black dash mat/cover, very distracting!

I gave you the worst case which is rare but most of the time with the sun at the right angle I see just the speaker and a little around the hud:
