It’s a mass produced engine. Do you really expect them to waste time on something non-cosmetic?

Do all my own maintenance. I also understand mass production and cost cutting. Seem like you’re taking the engine apart and upset with that fact.

Boy do I have great news for you!
You are currently in the C7 General forum! You will be pleased to know that there is a C7 Technical forum, for talking about things like why the Corvette is cheaply made and how to fix that! It's located over here ----> https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rformance-169/
Godspeed, sir.

Well, let's not be too hasty. You're more than likely going to hear the same things over there.
To recap:
1) Relax.
2) It doesn't matter.
3) It's mass produced, you aren't getting something that's built with love and care.

Yes it needs to be better
I worked in Aerospace for 35 years. I know how parts travel through a plant as different steps are done. It may not look baD too you and on camera but let me tell you if a burr hand did this type of work they wouldnt work for long. I know what tools they use and all through this block it looks like they used a hammer or a concrete cutter. That may be acceptable to you but if i ordered a block its not just on the crank by the way. I would send it back. If your the same guy i have read other comments from i think you pay to have your mods done right? You pick out parts have a shop put them in and call it your build ??

I agree in aerospace, particularly if it’s a government contract (if the government spec’ed a C7 Corvette you wouldn’t see this kind of work but they would cost $8M each). Also, if you have a failure you can’t just coast to the side of the road.
The beauty of the excellent work you are doing is you can clean all of this work up while you balance and improve the engine clearances and then sleep well knowing it was done the right way. Problem solved!

If OP doesn't post a mirror polished LT1 then I don't know what to do.

A squirrel once chewed the wiring in my 1966 Bronco. My pellet gun and I got even 22 times over. No more squirrels for two years, then I saw one on the fence one morning. He got a warning shot and never came back.
