So maybe this is why my 14 Z51 rides sooo rough?
Ever since I got my 14 Z51 the ride has been REALLY rough. . (48k miles on the clock and owned it for ab a year now) I just ASSUMED it was because the owner before me who did the heads/cam combo also put EXTREMELY stiff shocks on for handling as well. Welp, went to do my first oil change in it today and looked around the vehicle and found this:
I also noticed that the shocks are the stock shocks so, so much for that theory but is that crack enough to cause it to ride so bad? It doesn't seem to make any difference what mode I put the car in. It's kinda like all the selections were tuned out somehow (don't know if that's possible but....)
Thanks for any insights!

Drive mode only affects ride stiffness if your Z51 has mag ride. Mag ride was optional on 2014 Z51s... Look for black shocks with a wire coming out the top and option code FE4 on the service parts sticker under the hatch carpet.

Not a good sign with the spring broken like that. I would want the sping replaced as Bill Dearborn suggests.

I am cautious and would think a damaged spring might put undue strain on the other spring, too. I would replace both. jmho
