Default C7 on a Uhaul Car Trailer?

Hello, I need to transport my stock height C7 a couple of hundred miles to a shop. Anyone ever load their car on a Uhaul car trailer? I've seen some guys use wooden blocks to load without damage, but I've never done that.I've never even used a car trailer. Anything special i need to do to strap it down? Im assuming the rental will come with tie downs? Will I need blocks? Any advice? Thanks

You will probably need some boards to extend the ramps to get a better approach angle. I have an open trailer with a beaver tail where the back end of the beaver tail is 18 inches off the ground. I need a combination of ramps approximately 10 ft long to get the car onto the trailer without rubbing the front fascia on the ground or the trailer. With the extended ramps, the front splitter clears by about a 1/4 inch.

It is probably a good idea to lay some 2x8s in the left side channel so the left side of the car is higher and lets you open the door over the trailer fender. Don't assume the trailers come with any tie-downs. Even if one does don't trust them as you don't know their condition. Provide your own tie-downs.

This is a whole thread on trailering with a U-Haul trailer. Post #25 is my detailed explanation of how I did it, along with pictures.
Good luck

I’ve hauled many Corvettes using U-haul trailers. Their trailers are very well built and include some nice features, but inspect carefully as at least one knucklehead will have used it and may have screwed it up. They all come with tie downs, in fact they are the preferred style that wraps around the tire and doesn’t contact the rim. They include the ratchet adjuster to crank the two front wheels down tight. They all have trailer brakes which is a must and the trailer fenders flip outward so you can easily open the door once you have the car on the trailer. This is a great feature! You definitely want some 2x lumber to adjust the approach angle, but the scariest part of the whole experience is driving the car onto the trailer. My ‘64 Corvette is heavily modified with about 4” of ground clearance. I moved it from Atlanta to NY last year easily.

I’m still working on the body, but she runs and drives nice.

I've loaded my C5 onto my 16' trailer (slight beaver tail) using the supplied 6' aluminum ramps with the first section of my Race Ramps. Worked fine. Btw, my C7 has more front clearance than my C5.

If your in a area where the roads ain't clean? Meaning dirt, salt etc. Those rear tires from the tow vehicle will throw some crap blasting your nose.
Either a enclosed trailer or a front bra for protection.Or if the nose has PPP Film for a WHAT IF.

You're going to want to back it on the trailer from previous posts.

I thought the same thing. Be careful where you drive and the road surface conditions. You don't want to pepper your front end with road grit etc.

Factoid I hope you don't mind that I borrowed your picture. OP, see the area w/ the red box around it? Not all of those standup ramp edges are this nicely cut down so keep an eye there as it comes up and off the ramps.

I used 3 boards under the ramps to load and unload, just as others recommended.

I sandwiched and screwed 2 2x10s together for each side and parked my tires on them. This allowed me to pull the car forward far enough. One 2x10 didn't bring the front end up enough. Everything went great. I'd highly recommend Uhaul car trailers. It pulled incredibly well behind my Titan. On the last unload, I just pulled my truck up a steep hill. The back of the trailer was almost on the ground. I pulled the ramps out and unloaded without boards.
