I have seen a lot of talk on the AFM/DFM plugins, and I have also seen that they very in price. I am new to the C7 after having my C6 for 11 years. Are they worth it and what ones seem to be the most common?

I use the Range AFM Eliminator. Works well to keep the car in V8 mode all the time and is reasonably priced.

Same here, I've had the Range device for a while now and love it. Well worth the $$$$$.

Same for me. Make sure you buy it directly from Range Technology to get the latest update.

General heads-up.... If you have a MT transmission just never use ECO mode and you'll never have cylinder deactivation... I am assuming most folks posting about this topic have Auto transmissions.

Range device, OR, drive your auto (assuming it’s auto) in manual mode using paddle shifters at all times. No cylinder deactivation in manual mode

Default Any CONS?

Other than fuel MPG reduction, any long-term cons in using the device for an A8?
Read somewhere you have to disconnect the battery before installation (plug-in)? Would seem counterproductive if you have to unplug say to hook up a Code Scanner/Reader for a quick read.
I don't hear about cons too much, but somethings can be too good to be true!

I'm curious about cons as well. I bought one but haven't used it yet. The V4/V8 seems to work seamlessly now since I had the trans triple flush done to the transmission. Just wondering if there is any analysis out there on long term usage of the Range device.

I have had my Range divice for two years, and I am not disappointed with it. I have had no problems with it

Had a 2015 Z51 A8 and used the range device until triple flush and Dyno tune and they disabled AFM. Now have a 19 GS A8 and got the triple flush. Torque shudder was in auto or manual mode and rpm varied about 100 rpm and after flush smooth with no rpm change. Range device fixes nothing and prevents nothing IMO. Do the TSB and forget this snake oil that the range and other devices are touted to be.

You don't have to disconnect the battery ever. If you want to remove it just do it before you start the car. If you remove while it's running it will throw a code and you get a check engine light but it reset for me after I parked and shut the car off.

Range device works great on my car. I have removed it while running with no code thrown.

Triple flush fixed my car but I don’t want a 4 cylinder Corvette.

I thought I read, that in the A8 it did not matter what driving mode or in either of the Drive or Manual trans mode it was still active. It was on the M7 that it would not kick in unless it is in the Economy mode.

I can confirm, A8 in manual mode avoids AFM

Great, I always drive mine in the manual mode.
