Moved from C6 to C7 - trans shudder
I've had several corvettes over the years as many of you have. Always some little issue to deal with. I had C3, C4, C6 and now a C7 - 2018 Grand Sport in Admiral Blue Metallic. Love the car but it has the transmission shudder. I researched on here and found out about the TSB on the trans fluid. Since the drivetrain warranty will be ending soon, I checked with a local service department and they made an appointment. The appointment was 2 weeks out. I took my car in last Friday and every day got a call saying the transmission tech had not gotten to it yet. Evidently the dealer has two transmission techs and both are backed up. When I took the car in, I described the symptoms and said I believed the car needed the TSB done. Of course, the service rep said they needed to diagnose it, etc....
Got a call two days ago, service tech said transmission tech tested and confirmed it needed the TSB. Now waiting two days to get the triple flush completed. Hopefully that will solve the issue but just in case, I went ahead and bought the Range device too.
Just venting about the time it is taking to get this done I guess but seems pretty telling that the trans techs are so backed up. Has anyone else experienced this? And thanks for the previous discussions on this that helped me understand what needed to be done. I think going in informed did save some time since I told what I thought needed to be done.

Should never take that long and make sure they reprogram it as well.
Transmission techs? I am not thinking so. It should be the job of a certified Corvette tech. period!

If the dealerships in your area are anything like the ones here, it is not unusual for it to take 1-2 weeks for a service appointment. I would agree with you that if the dealer scheduled you in for an appointment for a certain date, it should not take 3 days to look at the car, plus another two days to do the work. But I do not know any extenuating circumstances at the dealership either.

I didn't know that GM had Corvette "transmission techs"

Bradshaw, they have done good work on my wife's Cadillacs in the past. I inquired and they do service "lots" of corvettes per the service manager. Thought I would try them out.

First I heard that too. The service rep is the one who said they had two dedicated transmission techs who were backed up - may just be how the dealer assigns their techs
Got another call last night saying hopefully today...

My son took his Silverado to the same dealer I bought my C7 from with a trans issue and it was the same story. The Transmission tech was out for a few days and then he was backed up up. After a week he went and picked it up. Took it to another dealer. They could get on it that day, but he ended up trading it and just bought a new truck.

There are many threads discussing this topic, including one I created this last October:

Triple flush + Range device seems to fix the issue for many folks, including myself

The tech finally got to the car and I picked it up on Friday after being there a week. After the triple flush, all is well. Runs and drives great. From reading the posts here, I was sure it would fix the problem but am still surprised at how long it took and the backup on the two dealer transmission techs. Hope this thread helps someone. I didn't expect to wait two weeks to take the car in and then leave it another week for this service.
That said, I'm loving the switch from the C6 to this C7.
