Can you breakdown the increase in each category of protection? Increase could be due to hurricane loss claims.

Had Geico and it went up 20%. Did some online shopping and found Liberty Mutual at near my old last years rate with same coverage.

My auto insurance renews next month and my insurance went up 28%. Had an incident thanksgiving 2021 where a guy rear ended me at a stop light. State minimum wasn’t enough to repair my car so I had to file a claim on mine. Though it was finally catching up to me but shopping around shows all prices pretty similar. 3 cars. Went from approx $340/mo to Approx 430/mo.
what isn’t going up? A dozen of eggs at the grocery story the other day was $8 up to like $13. Wild

I can't remember where I heard this or if it's still accurate, but I'll share it anyways.
Many insurance companies invest their "held" funds and when the market does well they don't need to raise premiums to cover costs. But when the markets suck, they need to raise premiums to stay competitive.
They could also be reacting to anticipating claims payouts from the flooding in California, much like they have for hurricanes in the south and hail on Colorado's front range.
I'm with State Farm in a state with few natural disasters (MN) and my insurance has not changed more than a couple bucks year over year, other than when changing vehicles.

Before I bought my vette. I had a Mercedes S63. It is what got rear ended. It was in the shop for 6 months. His insurance covered 30 days rental car and mine covered 30 days. After that, I was on my own. The last few years is throwing a wrench in a lot of things. No doubt slow turn around on cars is costing the insurance money too. Time is money.

Discussing pricing is largely pointless. Geography, state laws, different coverages, different ages and driving records, different multi-line discounts, additional drivers in the house, miles traveled per year, garaged or not, credit score, etc. all affect pricing.
For example, high limits and minimal deductibles on two cars, three motorcycles, two homes, and an umbrella liability policy costs me $1900/year.
It's not even an apples-oranges comparison, because we don't even know what we're comparing against.
But what is useful is comparing price changes when nothing else on your policy has changed. Comparing my pricing with your pricing is pointless (beyond bragging).
EDIT: And it's not even for bragging, because there's no personal prowess involved in calling insurance companies and getting the best quotes.

I have found that if I stay with ANY insurance company more than a few years, I'm paying too much. With a pristine record, 3 cars, full coverage hits me for @1150.00 a year.
Erie insurance... Available in limited areas....
I need to "knock in wood" some place asap......

With GEICO at least, you must drop them after awhile. I had them for most of my driving career and when the premiums hit $4K a year I switched to Liberty Mutual and for the same coverage my rate was $1600 and change...this for three cars. All older than most here would consider keeping them for.

At least the price of gas comes down once and a while, but never auto insurance.

I was just trying to figure out if that was a yearly or 6 month premium. Arizona has some of the worst drivers that I have ever seen and I have lived a lot of different places. Typically these level increases have been reserved for health insurance lol.
