I wasn’t aware CarPlay works without your phone attached apparently. So the newer systems have this functionality without an attached phone?
The op's question was can you add apps to the factory radio. We are not talking what you can do with a phone, Apple car play etc....No you cannot add apps to the factory system other than what is in the catalogue, period.
