Default Battery suggestions

Hi all
Picked up my C7 in June w/19k mi.
Had no idea on when the battery went in and considering it’s location it looks brand new.
Well today (after about 2 weeks parked) I needed a jump.
Considering all the electronics on board, I’m guessing a more high end battery makes sense.
Any suggestions are welcome
Thanks Ed

I like OEM GM batteries. If it is sitting for any length of time you should consider a battery tender. Good Luck!

Get Battery Tender. And connect it when not being used.

Replaced my original battery this year, after 7 years, with an OEM GM battery. Do use a battery tender, so I'm hoping to get another 7 years with the new battery.

Definitely suggest you get a battery tender with the new battery you choose, from my experience its worth the extra cost in the long run.

Just had a new GM battery installed in my 16. Went dead sitting at the Chevy body shop. They put in a new battery and didn’t charge me, insurance may have paid, I don’t know.

Use a battery tender on my 07 C6 as it sits for much longer periods now I have the C7.

Thanks guys
Never thought of a tender but it makes sense.
Don’t know what I was thinking but suffering from a little sticker shock. Batteries from $220-$350 yikes.
Anyway looking at the Optima Yellow Top. A bit more pricey but with the trickle charge it should add to the lifespan.

Yes, with all the electronics the battery tender is a must.
As soon as I park it the tender goes in the connection place in the hatch.

Get an AC Delco 42 month battery (available at your dealer) and once installed, keep it on a battery maintainer when the car is not being driven.

I'll second that. OEM is 36 month battery. The 42 month AC Delco and battery tender when not driven every day is all you really need in most cases.
Enjoy your C7

You can get the maintainer from your local Chevrolet dealer. It is a simple piece and works great. I plug mine in every time I park it. I don't worry about driving off with it plugged because I leave the trunk open. If you don't see the open trunk before you get in the car will tell you it is open after you hit the start button.

I agree with the above. I have an AC Delco 42 month battery, and when I come back to the garage, I attach the Battery Tender, Junior. I have done that with three generations of Corvette's and it has worked out.

Thanks guys
Car started today fine ((surprised as after it acted up twice yesterday.
As I mentioned I don’t know the history on the battery, so a new one will give me a baseline and piece of mind.
Thanks for the heads up on the charger. It’s already on the Xmas list.
Always used them on my boats but didn’t think about it for the car.
I think I’m transitioning from a Flintstone to a Jetson 😜

When new the OEM battery should be able to start the car after the car has sat for up to 6 weeks. At least they have done so on all of my C5, C6, and C7 Vettes. The CTEK C7 Corvette Battery Maintainer can be purchased at several locations including Amazon.

The battery date is on top of the AC Delco battery. It is stamped/molded into the case.
I replaced mine at 6 years. Cheap insurance. Dealer installed the 42 month battery.

If you go with the Optima, be sure your battery tender has an AGM Mode. Your original Corvette battery was flooded cell (non-AGM).

I'd just spend that $100 and save a lot of trouble. I've tried many types of batteries and have decided $300 doesn't equate to a better battery. I now go to Costco or sams club and spend $120 ish and works perfectly for 3-5 years. Just my honest opinion.

Either of these batteries that your GM dealer has in stock is a good choice. Should last you 6-7 years +. Around $250 and worth it.
