I like the looks of both for different reasons. Just as the rear of the C7 had to grow on me Im sure the C8 rear will too as more are sold. I may get the C8 Z06 in a few years as prices (hopefully) go to normal. Flat plane crank is on my car bucket list.

A friend bought a 2023 HTC.
I realized I could not find a spot in the car to carry a 16” pizza!
That more or less sealed my keeping my M7 coupe.

Love my C8, haven't missed my C7 GS convertible at all, though thought I probably would. I will keep my C8 Z51 until my Z06 spot comes up which will 2-3 years. LOTS of improvements with the C8.

My C7 is my first Corvette. I could have purchased a C8,
however,
i think the C7 is better looking in most regards,
(i won't bore you with my list)
the C8 has less trunk room than the C7 and i do all the shopping in our household in the C7
the C8 has a huge blind spot, according to the owners i have talked with. One said "just focus forward, never look back"

Untrue, regarding the huge blind spot, at least for the coup. Set the review mirror camera to wide-view and vision is very good.

Yes, i know about the frunk.
i was actually having this discussion yesterday with a fellow owner who has a C7 Z06.
he said the same thing i did "almost bought one, not enough trunk for my trips"
i have not driven a C8,
but i have spoken to more than one owner who has stated the rear blind spot is awful.
Maybe they do not know about "wide-view",
i will ask them next time i see them,
thx

I went back and forth over this for awhile. Sold my C7Z M7 over a year ago. Took delivery of my C8 HTC in August and haven’t missed the C7 yet. I do agree that the C7Z looks better and I miss the ridiculous torque of the Z at times. However the C8 is just a pleasure to drive. I think the C8Z will definitely make up for the power I miss in the C7Z though. This being said they are both fantastic cars.

Nice ride Kevin. You must be pretty committed to that Z06 order given your plate

I got my special order C7 GS at the end of May in 2019. They were practically giving them away, well sort of. I think the C8 is terrific but it exceeded my pain threshold at the time by about $20k. My C7 was a tough sell, just how many toys can you convince your wife and the bank that you really, really need? I just priced out a mid level C8 ZO6 at $128k plus tax and license, that’s a lot of coin for a retired small contractor.
No I’m not trying to start a fight but the EV handwriting is on the wall, My Model S is as fast as my GS and costs next to nothing to operate. Premium here costs $6.50 a gallon and that kind of recurring cost wears on me. If I was buying today I’d get a mid spec targa Z51 which I could now pull off financially but I would probably regret when gas hits $8.00 gallon. An E-Ray would be more to my liking but will probably be a budget buster. This is an inflection point for me at 73, the future as they say is now so unless a C8 were to fall into my lap I’ll just just hold on to my “classic” M7 GS.

I bought my used C7 GS instead of the announced (at that time) C8. I just love the C7. However, there are many things about the C8 I like very much. In the end, I prefer the traditional front engine concept.

I do think the c7 is better looking than the c8. I like the c8 z06 but I’m not selling my zr1 for one. I know the auto’s are faster but I do enjoy driving a stick. My DD is and auto and I really look forward to getting in my vette and rowing my own. Maybe the c8 zr1 will continue to improve on the looks of the car and I will bite on one of those. At this point I don’t think I will ever sell my zr1

I LOVE the C8 look.... Much better then the C7, IMO... I wish I could find a C8 without the MASSIVE markup the dealers who get one put on. Maybe to the end of the C8 run they will finally catch up on orders and have it worked out to getting deliveries done. I may keep my C7 until the C9 comes out and place an order for the C9. But my overall absolute fav, is the C6...

also not trying to start a fight here,
turns out several local Corvette owners also own a Tesla
we were having this discussion this past weekend.
they all state that they like their Model whatever and yes it is fast and inexpensive to run
they also say they do not enjoy driving it as much as their Corvettes,
which is why they are out on the weekend doing 200+ mile runs.
Obviously EV is the future,
just not looking forward to it.
