OK to use a 12696048 PF64 Oil Filter?
I realize 12696048 is not the current number (that would be 12706595); but are there any issues that would make the old number undesirable to use?
TIA,
Larry

Larry - got this from the GM website. The old part # works but the new one has some upgrades.
KEY FEATURES
The new OES filters feature:- A larger cross-section gasket that improves sealing and lock-seam geometry robustness
- New steel (versus polyester) endcaps that are securely bonded with a hot-melt adhesive
- A molded nylon center tube
- Stringent testing that includes two leak tests, one of which occurs with the gasket installed
- Construction using error-proofing automated assembly

To add to the oil filter confusion..... I have an "old" filter, with 12696048 printed on both the box it came in, and on the label on the side of the filter. However, stamped in faint letters on top of the filter is what looks like batch number, and "Product of USA"..... and...... 12706595... the "new" number.
