Default Corvette Stingray book exchange

Update: With list of users its going out to!
So far the list is

Dads2kconvertible - Currently en route
CourtneyJudd
Kangarew
blrmkr83
Maxpowers - Unless shipping is outrageous

This thread might get moved to the for sale section but I felt initially it belonged here. So here’s my plan.

I was given this book by my wife for a Christmas present last year. I’ve read it twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. I know some people would like to read it but don’t necessarily want to fork out what it goes for lately. What I would like to do is share it. I would like to get a list together, send it out and then when that person is done they send it on to the next person in line. Only stipulation is I want everyone to sign it either in the front or back open pages before sending it on. Then eventually once it travels for awhile share the signed pages and messages back on here with everyone? I realize I could very well end up losing the book but I have faith in this community overall.

Stipulations if you want on the list.
1. You agree to try to keep the book in decent condition
2. Send the book on to the next recipient in a timely fashion once finished.
3. Pay for shipping to next recipient.
4. Sign the book.

Anyone interested? I will handle the information as far as collecting and distributing addresses via pm to keep them off the open site. If your interested comment in this thread “Send me the book” When it’s your up next I will pm you for your address and provide it to whomever currently has the book so it can keep traveling.

Or if this a dumb idea just tell me and I’ll forget the idea lol.

This is a nice idea. I've got that book; very informative. If you want to learn the nuts-and-bolts of a C7, this is the one.

I wish there were more C7-specific books on the market.

Agreed...I bought my C7 right at the end of the very last model year in 2019, and by that time the book was out of print. And as others have said, there were few books written on the C7, in fact I think this is the only comprehensive one.

I eventually emailed the author, Larry Edsall, and he very kindly offered to send me one of the remaining copies that he had left. Super nice guy!

I think it's a great idea. The only problem would be, if your wife doesn't agree. However, if the last person were to return it to you, that might make her happy to know you shared it with friends.

Default Send me the book

Send me the book too! I think we can still ship via USPS media mail for the best rate. Also it might be interesting to list our two letter state abbreviation after our name to track the books path. Thanks

When Larry sent it to me here in Toronto it was almost $50 US postage...he may have sent it through FedEx or such...USPS might be cheaper. But some cross border shipping rates are ridiculously expensive.

As mentioned above, USPS Media Mail, specifically meant for books and other select printed matter, will be the least expensive option within the US (not sure if HI and AK are included in that rate).

We did something like this with a valve adjustment shim kit back in the day when I had my Kawasaki ZRX1200, adjust your valves and take what shims you needed, ect. worked well.

I almost did the same thing, went to Amazon and saw those used copies, being published in 2014 I am assuming no wide body content? Perhaps the OP @koldnrg can comment?

That was the only version ever published...so no, only information on the C7 that was current at the time of the 2014 model launch. But it's still a great book with tons of interesting information on the development of the C7.

Book will be shipped to how requests come in on this thread. Book shipped out to Dads2kconvertible today via media mailer, like $8.00 so not bad.

So far the list is

Dads2kconvertible - Currently en route
CourtneyJudd
Kangarew
blrmkr83
Maxpowers - Unless shipping is outrageous

I will also edit the top post to show this list for people.
