C7 Z06/Z07 Mickey Thompson Tires 345/35/18 Car Swaying At High Speed! :0
Got some 345/35/18 Mickey Thompson tires for my C7 Z06/Z07. The car is swaying left to right at higher speeds. I’ve been told the softer compound of the tires is the cause of the swaying.
Any input to help reduce swaying will help! Thanks! :-)

Looks like ET Street S/S, right? I have a set of ET Street R in 325/35R18 on their way and I will test what they do once I have them.
How fast are you going once you start to notice the issue?

That is pretty common for those tires. They walk all over the place.
That’s why unless you’re using them for the drag strip most of the time people avoid them and go with the Toyo R888r tires.

Yes, and the issue is noticeable at 80 mph, at 100-125mph very noticeable. Up front I am running Michelin Pilot Sport tires. I was recommended to drop the psi to 18-20 PSI and try that. Currently running 35 PSI. Will update this week to see if I notice a difference. :-)

I had "19 Street SS on my Vette for awhile. I found that the PSI played a big role in how much sway I got. When they were fresh I put them at 28-30 and going over 100 was nerve wracking from the sway. Lowering them to 22 pretty much eliminated it and they felt like a normal street tire at speed. After a thousand or two miles on them I could raise the PSI to 28 again and there was no more sway.

Get rid of the front run flats and you are good to go. Old saying til this day is do not mix drag radials with run flats. This is a fact. Especially, with cars running 10’s or better
