Any guidance? New to me, 15k mi. Saw the tsb for alignment. Tried an MGW and same issue. Feels like it’s hitting a gate halfway in to gear. Have to roll forward or at least clutch out in neutral to get in. Otherwise “grind me a pound”. Is that normal?

Definitely not normal. Usually changing out the clutch fluid for fresh will result in smoother gear changes but doubt that would help in this instance. Probably a linkage issue. I have never had an issue getting mine into first gear, With dirty fluid shifts are not as smooth and you can really feel the difference with fresh fluid.

My 2015 was funky in 1st and 2nd gears waaaaaay back when I got her. Eventually changed tranny fluid and put in fresh clutch fluid via “ranger method”

My has been that way since I got it used 4 years ago, flushed the clutch fluid multiple times but no change. As I posted in that linked thread I just downshift into 1st to fix the problem. As described its like a notch or a gate blocks out 1st ever so slightly. It will even pop out of 1st if its not fully engaged.
