I'm sitting at the dealership, tempted to trade.
Getting a couple of warranty recall things done on my pickup and was talking to the head salesman about the new C8's. Asked him what allotments they had etc. He said they have an unsold '23 coming in, yellow HTC 3LT, blk interior and they don't charge over MSRP. As some here know I have two C7's, a '16 Z51 2LT convertible and a '19 1LT base. I haven't asked what my '19's trade in value would be nor the sticker on the C8 but I know if I were to order one it'd be probably a year wait if not longer.
I'm also right in the middle of a new house build so it might not be the most prudent thing to do but damn is it tempting. I'm going to go on the Chevy site and get an idea of what that kind of build costs. If it weren't for the house deal I'd be on that C8 like white on rice.

Well they gave me some numbers today.
C8's MSRP is $93,915.
'19 LT1 trade in $53,000. Which is 3K more than I paid for it.
$40,913 plus $180 document fee for a total of $41,095 cash.
I talked to the salesman about "ad ons, adjustments and hidden fees" and he said nope, none of that. He told me they won't add anything like floor mats or paint protection unless I want it. I asked him if they needed a deposit and he said no. He talked to the general manager (which is who I talked to initially, thinking he was a salesman) and he said I'm local and have been a good customer so no deposit required. They put my name on it and said if anyone should call that it's already sold.
However, to cover my own *** I'm going to talk to the gen manager and get something in writing along with a substantial deposit. Once that's done all I should have to do is wait. They have a target date of mid August but I was told that could fluctuate with the build/supply issues which we all know is going on. We'll see how it goes.

HTC’s are awesome. You should be gathering info RIGHT NOW. If the dealer really is selling at MSRP that C8 will sell quicker than it takes me to type this reply!
He’ll likely need to lowball you a bit on your trade, but if he offers you close to Blue Book trade-in it will be a fabulous deal for you. Then your decision can be based on the other factors.
Oh, and if you do pull the trigger, be sure you use the coupon and do the Spring Mountain experience. I just got back. Awesome…

I can't see what difference anything we can say will make in your decision; sorry. (btw, I hate yellow, apart from anything else; so, it would be nothing but a dealer curiosity for me. )
Just an additional comment about dealers who "sell at MSRP," if you haven't you might want to read a few of the comments on the C8 Forum here who were told the same thing only to find thousands of dollars of crappola add-ons instead of an initial jacked-up price. It's amazing how many didn't get the contract in writing, hence ended up screwed by their MSRP dealer. Just sayin'...

Might be tempting to trade one of your C7's for a C8 but that color Yellow is in my opinion a love it or hate it color you need to see one up close.

Do you really need 2 C7s? If you’re going to get a C8 vs waiting for A) this craziness to end or B) the economy to go recession or not, now is as good a time as any of there is a reasonable deal to be had. Yellow is a cool color and different. If you’re looking for urging, yes. Do it.

If you can make the numbers work out, I would go for it. Sure beats having to wait 12 months or more to get a car. Think of all the fun miles of driving you could be having.

I would trade the 19 C7 coupe for a C2 or C3 or C5 or C6 but never a C8 . Just how I feel about exotic mid engine supercars not my cup of tea.

OP, IF (and that's a BIG IF) the dealer is actually going to sell it at MSRP, why would you not buy it? As you can either keep and enjoy or quickly sell it for $10k profit after all your purchase expenses and taxes.
And as mention above, typically dealers who sell at MSRP are adding $12k>$15k worth of mandatory and useless add-ons.

If nothing else it's a business decision. If you can really get at MSRP I would buy it in a minute and sell it in the next. It's like insider trading, guaranteed money.

And yes, if you can afford the c8 then get it. Or maybe wait for the ERAY.

Think of the C8 as the first, new piece of furniture for the garage. It will add to your anticipation for getting your house finished, plus you will get more enjoyment out of it than any other furniture you purchase. Enjoy!

I sent them pics if my '19, the VIN and the mileage to see what kind of trade in offer I'd get. If the numbers look good I would only do the deal if they're going to sell it at MSRP. No way in hell am I paying for any add ons or any bullshit fees. I did find another in cyber matrix gray (?) that's a 2LT Z51 for about the same price. I was told the initial car won't be delivered until early August so I sent an inquiry about the gray one. I'm in no big hurry either way so I'll see what pans out.
If in your position of getting a home built, I would get on waiting list with one of the Big/3 and order the C8 exactly the way you want it at straight MSRP and get it in 10-13 months with no BS.

Read over on the C8 forum, the dealers use all kinds of tricks. Another popular one is they tell you they have one coming in at MSRP, then it comes in the salesman breaks the news to the potential buyer that my sales manager says we have to get $................................

agreed. Why would they offer an immediate C8 at MSRP to a random customer getting a service. Unless you’re a great customer. I see no reason a dealer would give up free money.
