Here’s my video on why I chose my C7 Corvette Z06 over the C8 Corvette

I disagree. The C8 rearend is fine.
What I find hilarious are the former C6 owners that spent 6-years here bashing the C7 tailights, who now own C8s and don't mention their squared off Camaro tailights.

C7nut:
How times have changed. Ask most C7 vette owners today and they'll tell you round taillights are dated just like the C6.

Thank you again for your painstaking video that takes time to prepare! Loved the awesome Z06 exhaust notes from the exterior right side ride along as you went Up through the gears. You rock!

I always laughed when people bashed the taillights. Taillights were never particular high on my list of priorities for any of my car purchase. Really? Taillights?? OK.
I also sold my C7 Z06/Z07 M7. When I bought it I thought "What else could you want? 650 HP, manual, CC brakes, it's comfortable. What else could I want?" Well, It turned out that it just wasn't a great street car for me and an even worse autocross car. The engine overpowers the chassis just about anywhere. On the street, the suspension is too stiff for a drag launch, and with street tires they struggle to hold on until they're warm but where do you get a chance to warm them up? Plus it seemed like EVERY Mustang wanted to race. Cold damp mornings? Don't take the Z06. Even tooling around the $2500 carbon fiber front splitter was begging to scrape. Just not relaxing. On the autocross track the tires never have time to warm up and you spend more effort feathering the gas than hitting your marks, The brakes, while super in a straight line are too good in the corners where the now not-stiff-enough-front suspension tends to understeer when the weight of the supercharger shifts forward. Granted, the car was a LOT fun but in an out-of-control-holy-crap-that-was-messy way. Quick in the very tight corners? Not a chance. I'll just use my GT3 for that. On the street I now use a C7 base convertible - 460 almost-usable HP, no splitter, and no one cares to race it.

A big reason for me is the ability to store things behind the seat. Not a big deal if you go to a car show. But, when traveling, it's good to store a cooler, snacks and other important stuff within reach. In the C8, there is no space behind the seats... big engine in there. Recent trip, the wife and me, 2 carry-on size bags, 2 duffel bags, cooler, jackets, hats, cleaning supplies (stopped at a car show), and room left over for purchases along the way. No way that all fits in a C8.

It's those ugly hemi powered pickups that want to get noticed who'll scream by me. I just laugh.

I’ve watched reviews that say the C7 Grand Sport is the best all around performer in the C7 fleet due to it having the LT1 engine but the suspension/handling upgrades and wide body from the Z06 which makes sense since it has just enough power for the chassis to handle well without it being too “squirrely” and all the handling goodies from the Z06 to handle the corners well.
However, I still enjoy that brute force power and torque (especially torque from the supercharger) which squiggle the rear tires and gives you that bonkers performance and sound from the LT4 so this means getting some track time at Ron Fellows performance driving school before I start tracking my Z06.
Plus Chevrolet did provide good suspension/handling upgrades on the Z06, so I just need to spend $1,800 on tires after every couple of track sessions! lol
I can only imagine how awesome the ZR1 feels which is why I stated on my video that if I get a chance to “upgrade” my Z06, a manual transmission C7 ZR1 is one of the next cars that I would buy, otherwise the C7 Z06 is an incredible machine to own.

Go Canes!
Great video. I am staying put for a few reasons, but mainly because I love my supercharged M7
