How long will it last? (Sirius XM service)
My trial subscription to Sirius XM had expired last fall a few weeks before I put my car away. I took it out of storage around the beginning of the month and noticed I had service and have ever since. I have not had any contact with the company. Even my On Star diagnostic service indicates Sirius XM as "Inactive". Strange.
***Update: Service ended today, 4/26/2022. It was mid March when I noticed I had service again, so over a month of free service.

Eventually they may realize that you do not have a paid active subscription and cut the service off. Until then, as the Doobie Brothers would say "Listen to the Music."

It has taken them up to a few days to cancel my trials after when they hit the mark on the date. The radio will do an update, they'll realize, then kill it.

I just renewed yesterday. I don't listen to it all that much but I like to have it and it is definitely cheap enough when you make a deal. I paid $33.06 total for 6 months with Nav Traffic and Travel Link.

OP, does Sirius have your credit card on file? They may have auto billed you

I bought a 2014 new out of the box back in Dec 2013. I renewed my XM coverage for a year after the trial period was over. After that subscription was over I cancelled the service. I owned the car for another year and XM continued and was still going when I sold it in 2017. I still wonder if the guy I sold it to is still getting it!

I think the service is fine, but I hate having to call every 6 months to renegotiate the deal I had before. I always said that when they have a 'standard' price that I don't have to complain about every 6 months, I would subscribe again. Now, I've gotten used to Apple Music. It's $15 per month, but includes most music ever recorded, I can search for a particular song or artist, set up my own playlists, listen to radio (like XM), podcasts, and other features. And, it works in every car without another subscription, and I can share with my wife, 2 kids and mother. The only thing I miss is Howard Stern, but after several years, I've found other things to enjoy. No more Sirius XM for me... and I was a subscriber for at least 10 years.

I recently signed up for the $5 a month for 12 months. I used to just listen in my vette but find myself streaming on my home PC all the time. Really enjoying it. Once that deal runs out I'll just cancel and wait for the next deal.

Yup...their latest "best" promo is $5.99/12 months, plus taxes and fees. About $72/yr total.

Sirius does a free 3wks 3 times a year on all vehicles that have the Sirius capability; usually leading up to Memorial day, Independence Day, and the Christmas Season. Congrats to those who are getting free satellite!

I've been getting their $5/mo. plan for the last four years. Sometimes their automated system renews without the need to speak to anybody. I always use a virtual credit card when I pay Sirius so they can't renew without my approval.

Oh yes! You're right...they tried to do $5.99 just yesterday (their "new" price) when I switched service to a new vehicle and it was $80 something all in. I told them I was getting $5/mo before and it was $72 with taxes and fees.
They ended up giving me the $5/mo promo in the end. I was mixing them up.
