Default paint protection film

Hi, any vettes out there with the PPF and on a white or yellow car? How do you keep the edges clean? I feel like I want to just remove the whole thing!

You can take a toothbrush to the edges. I try to look at the overall picture here...yes, PPF can get some dirt around the edges, but it's a temporary film. Your paint is being protected and that's the main thing.

Well, I've tried a toothbrush and even claybar on the edges and did nothing. I've had it on almost 4 years.

Ya there's not much you can do then without making it worse, sounds like.

I have found that using some good detail spray with a microfiber towel has kept the edges of the PPF on my car clean. I also wipe the car down after each drive so the dirt doesn’t sit on the car for an extended period of time. In addition, I use a wax that does not leave any white residue on the car which I think helps keep things clean.

I never had the issue, as I wipe mine down every day, but with previous cars i just used alcohol and a scratch free toothbrush and any buildup is easily removed.

Dudley Do Right, have had my PPF on for almost seven years now, looks as good now as the day it was installed, of course it's on black.
Another little cleaning evolution before you throw the cover on.

Is it possible those edges that can’t be cleaned have actually lifted slightly? I have a couple spots that the tiniest amount of grime got underneath. I just took it to my PPF guy and he trimmed it off. Certainly better than tearing it all off.

Take it to a pro and have the dirty edges trimmed. And I mean a pro, not the shop helper with a blade. An experienced installer has a hand for it and will never damage the paint
