Lubricant for rubber moulding for C7 roof panel
I saw on Rick Corvette Conti's youtube channel that they recommend lubricating the rubber around the roof panel so it doesn't dry out and create noise from friction with the top on. He recommended AC Delco - dielectric Lubricant GM part # 10-4071. It's on Amazon for $39 for a 2 ounce container. Is there an alternative? I did note that there was a tube that had 1 oz cheaper. Not sure if there is any difference or preference. Or is there a comparable product out there that would serve the same purpose?
Thanks

Gummi Pflege is highly recommended. I use it on my Corvette at our Saturn Sky.

Rubber Molding Lube
Back when I had my 2000 C5 Coupe, my top had a creaking noise. I bought it to the dealership and they apply a 'super-lube' that fixed the noise. I asked what they used and was given a tube to keep for myself.
I would use any dielectric grease brand.
Still available.
Genuine GM Fluid 12371287 Synthetic Lubricant with Teflon - 3 oz. $17.28

I've used 303 to preserve super old C2-C3 door, window, roof moldings and weather-strip for MANY years and it has always done just that preserved the rubber from further deterioration and made it look new.

I use either Aerospace 303 or Gummi Pflege.

I use Permatex dielectric grease for the sunroof seals on our Cadillac CTS. Adance Auto (and Napa sometimes) carry the 3 ounce tubes for a reasonable price (under $10). It's also good for door seals, trunk or hatch seals, and other software rubber parts.
GM dielectric grease and rubber conditioner are the same product, sometimes with different labels, but the same SDS.

I have been using for years a can of Natural Silicone Lubricant that I got from a local body shop. Can't find the same stuff any more but I understand that 3M makes a similar product and the cost is around $30 a can. Haven't tried it yet.

Melting Slicks
This is the stuff Mercedes reconmmends.
Krytox.
It's sold here (below) and elsewhere and seems to work really well. I used it on the seals on my SL450 hardtop convertible.

I used Mothers.. Goly, hope I didn't screw up!.. Should a chemical analysis be performed?... Probably, but will I be alive for the final judgment?... I don't know but now I'm SO concerned!.. Should one always use use a rubber... treatment?

Sarcasm aside, rubber can deteriorate quickly if you put the wrong chemicals on it. That's probably why he has the squeaking problem to begin with.
