Multiple Owners Opinion
Feelings on 3+ owners with a clean carfax, around 20k mileage, 2017 Grand Sport.
Looking for forum members opinions since this would be my first one.

The number of owners makes little difference; one owner could have beat on the car while three could have each babied it.
I suggest ignoring this tidbit and focusing on the car itself. What does it look like? Does it looked cared for? Have a dealer pull the VIS.

Three owners in 5 years would not cause me to pause, as long as I personally inspected the C7 and found it to meet my expectations.
Now 4-5 owners and I would start to wonder what's up and look elsewhere.
Good luck with your search.

For the kind of money you will pay, I would want a multi year warranty or at least a full Pre Delivery Inspection. I understand the warranty has to be purchased separately but I would definitely buy it from say Carmax or maybe one of the recommended sellers here. If it is private party, PDI before I pay. Multiple owners don't scare me. It is 20K but as said, one could have beat the **** out of it. Carfax only tells me whether it has been in a larger body shop for a collision. Not everyone reports it.

Some multiple owners are actually duplicates (I was shown) for instance, the dealer, the original purchaser… could be the same one owner, but I don’t know.

Late model Corvettes with multiple owners & low miles is a common thing, many people treat them as garage queens

I guess I am in the minority on this as I would pass on a 3 person owner Corvette. Not going to spend the money on a guessing game on why 3 owners and how they cared for the car. Plenty of things you can do as suggested by others to check the car out but bottom line too many one owner garage queens out there for sale so I am passing on this deal.

Say you do find them. Now what? They may not tell you the truth that the car was a POS from day 1. That would mean that they knowingly sold as POS making it like the world's best car.

I bought an '03 Z06 in 2012. I became the 10th owner. It had ~25,000 miles on it. At 86,000 I replaced the clutch and harmonic balancer; it's got 112,000 on it now. No "abuse" troubles whatsoever except those items and the required routine maintenance. I bought a '14 Z51 in 2016 and I'm the 4th owner. 12,000 miles; now it has 55k. Oil changes only and it runs like a top.
With CarFax reports and an attentive inspection, I wouldn't be afraid of multiple users.

3+ owners on a 2017 with 20K miles would cause me to pause a bit, but a thorough inspection of the car (with subsequent clear report) would go a long way towards easing my mind.

All the advice given is good and valid. Multiple owners on these cars is something many would not care about and does not make it any more likely to be beaten on.
That said, I'd never buy a car with multiple owners; none or one is the only options I ever go with, the less people to have had a chance to impact the car performance/cosmetic/maintenance the better

If I am buying a preowned car, I would be looking for a one owner who babied the car. However in the world of preowned, compromises always need to be made. So if this is the only real compromise, I would take extra care in checking the car.

I do. But I leave every car I have in better shape than when I bought it. 3 owners on a 17 wouldn't bother me. 5 or 6, possibly. But again, look at the history and the shape the car is in.
When in doubt, spend the few hundred dollars for a PPI for peace of mind.

Again no telling if anyone beat the car though the more owners the greater the chance one of them may have. I really wouldn't do 3 but certainly not over that. You have to see and test it for yourself but there are enough GS's out there with less than 3 owners with low miles you can check out. Best of luck and keep us posted with what you decide. Vette shopping is fun, enjoy.

I would want the ad for the car to say "all 3 of the owners babied it, none of them beat on the car, seriously, because we're typing this in an ad so it has to be true"
If that statement was in there I'd be good to go, otherwise you never know.

A extended warranty is good idea. Things I do not like include:
- Any accident even if repaired?
- Heavy mods, like added supercharger, Tunes, Wierd Wheels.....
- CarFax that has issues
- Wierd paint jobs
Heck there is a 2016 Z06 advertised locally at a big time GM dealership that has less than 900 miles? one owner! Clean CarFax, but really the car has sat for nearly 6 years, probably in a garage? If there was something not right about the car it has not been driven enough to expose defects?
probaly a great car but- will need new tires, battery, all the fluids, gas tank checked for condensation........

Watching this forum you see people flip 'Vettes constantly. A new color or option shows up and people trade up. They buy base or Z51 car then get a GS for looks, then decide they want Z06 power. As mentioned many cars are garage queens, plus people get bored with such "toys", they drive them for one season then get something else for entertainment purposes. You can't apply normal used car rules to Corvette buying: low mileage and excellent condition is assumed, multiple owners and light mods are to be expected. I would avoid very low mileage indicating the car sat doing nothing potentially causing seals and gaskets to dry out. These cars are built to be driven aggressively, so it all comes down to owner maintenance and current condition of parts.
