Default 3G sunset

I have a 2016 Z51 Vert and have been wondering will the 3G sunset have any affect on my navigation. Onstar
is updating their software as I'm a paid subscriber. But I was wondering about the car's navigation.

Thanks for any inputs

The navigation is internally based & self contained, and can be updated as needed from a USB, so it's NOT dependent on any form of connectivity. The OnStar stuff could be affected, as could in car wifi and MAYBE the weather feature. Frankly, I don't think OnStar is worth a damn; I'm too busy driving and enjoying the car to mess with wifi; and the best weather "app" simply looking out the window. At some point ALL of this in car connectivity is going to be rendered unusable as 3g then 4g go out of service. Just a fact. I won't sweat it as a smartphone can easily replace most of the in-car stuff anyway.

I haven't seen anything specifically stating the Nav will be affected - as stated it is not based on receiving a signal from some outside source.

As for OnStar, I do not know since I have never subscribed to it.

It must use GPS so it "knows" where it is.

The GM nav in my '19 still isn't superior to my 2012 Garmin, except that it's built-in vs finding a place to mount and view it.

GM has been using 4G LTE since at least 2013. This won't affect C7s.

The factory side glass should state that its 4G LTE compliant, my 19 does.

So when 4G ever gets phased out, we'll all have Onstar and other problems.

If I need directions I use OnStar but as far as wifi is concerned I have no use for it I have made about 20 thumb drives of music and just put one in and do what corvettes are made for .... Enjoy driving them

Loss of cellular data will not affect the navigation system. It is truly a GPS system that uses satellite triangulation. On Star will not be affected either.
