golf clubs?
I was an avid golfer looking to take up the sport again, and was wondering if there was room in the trunk for a set of golf clubs for a Coupe C7 GS??

Of course.
One of the design criteria for the car is that it be able to carry two sets of clubs.

Yes, however be careful with oversized bags so that they don't bounce around and scratch or damage the black hatch panel. I keep a small, black twin bed comforter in the back to throw over any larger cargo like golf bags to prevent them from rubbing against the trim. I don't use the OEM L-shaped lower cargo cover because I have a soundproofing mat underneath my lloyds cargo mat so I can't loop into the hooks. The cargo cover that attaches to the hatch doesn't really protect the black trim of the hatch.

Agreed with MSG C5, that you need to protect the trunk panels. I just wrap the clubheads with a towel and put a beach towel on top. Make sure that you park next to a Porsche in the lot, just to spark a bit of storage envy.

I never considered taking my Vette to the golf course – just assumed the clubs wouldn’t fit. But it’s a decent day and I’ll be driving over an hour on great roads to meet a friend for a round. Thought I’d try putting the big bag in and see. Just like others have said in this thread, it’s a perfect fit. Ha! Today I get to enjoy two of my favorite things to do.

My golf set in a cart bag (a little larger than a stand bag) fits fine. I echo what others have said about protecting the cargo area because I've seen shallow scratches where the plastic base of the bag rubs against the car's plastic paneling. I might add a semi-permanent protective something in that area. One time, a water bottle inside the bag leaked into the trunk mat; a minor annoyance that could be a bit more problematic if it was a sugar drink that leaves a sticky residue.

My wife golfs but I don't.
On her golfing days she gets to take the 'vette and loves it.
We have a thing called a Bumper Bib or Bumper Protector (we also call it a Diaper), that's a piece of quilted cloth that has two corners that loop onto the anchors for the cargo net. When loading things in/out of the trunk, we flip the cloth out for protection and flip it back in when finished. Takes about 2 seconds each way, our C6 had over 100k miles when traded, usually crammed full of road trip gear, and the outside lip back there was still perfect. OTOH, I haven't found any way to protect the cheesy plastic inside the C7 trunk. After the first 1k miles, the plastic looked worse than the carpet in our C6 after 100k.

Cart Bag
I must be doing something wrong. I can just barely fit one bag going in diagonally. Sometimes I remove the driver from the bag to make an easier fit.
