Rear license plate frame?
Our 2015 has a black plastic one that says CarMax at the bottom. Did the cars have a rear frame when delivered new? Pics please?
Thx!

There was no GM rear license plate frame for newly delivered cars. Dealers add them for marketing purposes.

My 2019 was delivered new without any frame. Just the out of state temp plate installed. I bought a clear cover from weather tech. Looks great and keeps the plate like new. You could also choose to not install any since it is not really needed.
I would remove that carmax frame and throw it away. They give it to you free to provide advertising for them.

As mentioned above C7s came with no frame. I purchased this GM carbon flash frame, matches the rear bumper cover perfectly.

^^That's a great choice, otherwise go frameless. Luckily for me my somewhat vintage blue and white NYS plate pairs well with my ELB car.

I broke weak and bought a real carbon fiber one with the Corvette name and logo to replace the dealer provided one I got. I don't like advertising on my vehicles. It was $75 but is a nice piece.
Bought this one.

Well, As usual, I went a bit overboard on the rear plate cover. Mine is a HAM radio antenna!

I like the Carbon Flash one shown above in this thread. That looks good.

Whatever you buy make sure it doesn't cover up any information on the plate. Not even partially.

My dealer provided their (plastic) frame, which I kept until I replaced it with a $5 Ron Fellows Spring Mountain (plastic) frame. I stuck a short piece of sealant backer rod behind the license plate, so the bottom edge doesn't rub against the valence.

...and by the way, I was just about to add that I really like the look of the black carbon fiber frame.

To get back to the beginning, I do not like to advertise for someone unless I am getting paid! I just took a black sharpie and covered the white letters. Almost two years later, it is still going strong.

No frame from the factory, but I would highly recommend getting a silicone frame that slips over the license plate and keeps the metal from coming in contact with the paint. I got mine either from Amazon or e-bay, can't remember which.
