Am I the only one that's not a huge fan of carbon fiber?
When CF started becoming available it was kinda cool in the early years, then it seemed to me that everybody everywhere just had to have it on their cars to some degree no matter what they were driving. Kind of reminds me back in the day when Keystone Klassic rims came out, suddenly they were on everything and got so common as to not even be noticed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not "hating" on CF and I do see the advantages for weight savings through it's use for hoods, body panels etc but to me the exposed CF look had been done to death.
I'm not trying to start a debate or argument, just wondering if any others think it's lost its cool factor from being so common now.

With you astepup...not big on CF for cosmetic purposes anymore. Once it was cool but now I'm kinda over it. But to each their own.

It is not a look I choose to go with either. But those that like it sure are happy to have that choice for their car.

Besides the strength and being lightweight, I can't stand the look of carbon fiber. It looks like cheap plastic with a weave.
That, and Black Wheels Matter.

I love CF as a structural item and I like it in selected cosmetic applications as well, what I don’t like is the price premium that is attached to its use. For me it just isn’t worth the extra cost for genuine CF and the faux stuff doesn’t do it for me so I rarely shop for CF. However, I definitely don’t frown on its use by anyone else.

The whole black wheels thing has been beaten to death a dozen+ times over so I’ll tread carefully. Here’s my take, and it’s just an opinion not a fact.
When I started driving black wheels were the absolute bottom of the barrel, subterranean, ultra ultra low end stock color for the stock steel wheels that came on your stocker than stock ride. You wanted those things gone before any of your crew saw them on your car. Fast forward to my golden years when I can actually afford to buy my dream Corvette and, to my shock, black wheels are now the in thing! To those of you who like black wheels I say enjoy but for me black wheels have too much negative baggage so I’m passing on this trend. It’s the circle of life, I get it, black is cool, silver and chrome are so “been there done that” old school. Whatever, fortunately everyone gets to make their own choice so knock yourself out.

Whether it's black wheels or carbon fiber everyone has their own tastes to make their own car unique. Doesn't matter what "anyone else likes".

As others have mentioned some doses and spots here and there exterior and interior.
I like the carbon flash stuff as well.
I think most will agree the plain black trim pieces are less then desirable for things like the splitter for example. when corvette owners call it the "poverty" one then you know some thing needs to change.

Obviously there are those that like it and those that don't. Sort of like Car Colors?
I like the weight savings of CF, except I do not understand why saving weight on add ons along the very bottom of the car makes any sense?
I would like to see the Front spoiler, side rails and anything mounted along the car bottom to be extra heavy and much more forgiving from impacts? This would help lower the center of gravity?
As far as looks- see first comment above

Carbon fiber is nice in tasteful doses. I prefer the contrast of black, but especially carbon flash, on non neutral colors. It pops a lot more and looks better from a distance in my opinion.
It's not my style when people just start replacing everything with it just because it's "cool". Hydrodipped carbon fiber interior pieces, carbon fiber wrapped exterior pieces, carbon fiber covers, etc.
It's different for me though when it's on a track weapon. Carbon fiber and forged carbon pieces on cars like the Huracan and Mclarens just look badass. Then when it's taken to the next level and is left exposed on like on boutique cars like Pagani, where the weave needs to be properly lined up and sometimes has color put into it--well it's hard to dislike.

All my exterior that had Carbon Flash is Real APR Carbon Fiber and I am a Huge Fan of high quality matching Carbon Fiber particularly for the exterior. I do not think all Carbon Fiber is equal nor do I mix/match parts from different brands and high end CF is just Beautiful if you can afford it. The beauty of my Carbon Fiber is the number one consistent compliment I receive on my car which is my Carbon Fiber Edition!

Everyone has their preference, I personally don't mind aesthetically or highlighting exterior features but some people go a little overboard, I .e. fast and furious style and to me that is way overkill.
Long as someone likes their car that is all that matters

I think stock is wonderful, appearance-wise, and I like the clean looks of the narrow body.
I think C-F has its place for actual weight savings/strength considerations, but when it's an interior piece applique, the irony is you're adding weight. Which is perfectly fine for the sake of style...just not my style.
Just got my C7 recently, and my "value added" changes will consist of suspension pieces, brake pads, (slightly) more aggressive alignment and sticky tires for the occasional track day.
