I love the way people like Scotty get on their 'Soap Box' and build a 'Straw Man' arguments to bolster their foolish points. The 'Shade Tree' mechanic Scotty has absolutely no concept of the engineering R&D that goes into the building a sports car as the Corvette.
I stopped watching Scotty a long time ago when I realized most everything he says on the YouTube is Bravo Sierra. And that his channel is designed to attract viewers for profit instead of providing useful information for public consumption.

There is some truth in what this guy 'Scotty' is saying. He is ranting for YouTube money$
We are entering the third year of the C8 and you still won't see a new C8 on the lot for sale.
The Z06 has about a 2 year back lot. Buy one if you can, I will someday if I'm lucky.
Bet wishes to all.

You don’t have to avoid it at all, they’re extremely difficult to buy, nobody is going to force one on ya

I will share an example. One of my daughters who has a master's degree in child psychology wrote an award winning book 'They Say", Not Your Average Parenting Book', and created a successful blog because she is a mother of three young children and got sick and tired of reading exaggerated and often un-true childrearing info on the internet from the self proclaimed child raising 'experts' who many are un-qualified and often don't even have children.

I believe most of us expected there to be hick-ups with a totally new sportscar. Personally, I'm on track to get a 3rd year Stingray and a 3rd year Z06 giving GM a few years for each to find and resolve as many issues as possible.
There are literally thousands of C8 Stingray and Z06 enthusiasts on the big "5" waiting lists. I got on the Z06 waiting list last June and will most likely have a 3 year wait.

There will be no MT in the C8. Thought new to the C8, DCT technology isn't that new in general. Though there have been issues with the C8 DCT they are exaggerated by the OP and GM is addressing them.

While every transmission wears to some degree, I have put well over 150,000 aggressive miles on a DCT with zero issue.
In other words, do not worry about the DCT.

Lassie, what helps me accept the DCT is that it is oil soaked. It is NOT a dry clutch system.
Standard automatics have clutches and clutch-plates, with oil(transmission fluid).
If I get a C8 someday, I will do the first engine oil change at 500miles and the trans-fluid at 3000miles.
Then I will change both once a year because I only drive about 4k per year.

Once upon a time I liked Scotty. For a while now I've noticed his relevance is waning and his videos are mostly click-bait. It's a shame because he does have many years of experiences to share. Perhaps he will return to his old self someday before he is completely irrelevant.

All modern trans are complicated ….DCT’s are a whole other level. That said like others 50k plus on a PDK-DCT…not a whimper

You said that you put 150,000 aggressive miles on a DCT, and that is good, but correct me if I am wrong, but not all DCT's are created equal.

DCTs are the same in many ways, different in others. They are however far from fragile and have been on the market for decades.
There is no reason to be concerned a car incorporates a DCT.
