Not sure if they were back in 82. I want to say that many were cassette tapes in cars even into the 90s?

It was late-80s when the old albums became available on CD. It was mid-90s when CD players started becoming standard equipment in cars. Thinking back, my 1996 Vette had a CD player, but my friend's 1995 didn't.

My 91 still had the slots in the center console for the cassette tapes. Either that or the console was "Ribbed, for her pleasure."

LOL! I think my 96 did too, but it also had a cassette player.

The later C3s came with a cassette player but had slots in the glove box for 8-tracks.

Was driving a '68 Porsche (in '68) in a fairly hard rain just outside Little Creek, Virginia, and IAGDV came on the radio and was just running faster and faster.... I took the exit curve at a silly speed... thanks to tires and suspension it did not end in disaster.... even after all these years IAGDV still makes me drive faster.... P-Car, F-Car, Vette....

WOWWWW You ARE OLD TOO!! My favorite song in High School!

My wife’s 2000 Chevy Blazer had both a CD and cassette player as OEM equipment.

Same here, I typically never listened to the sound system while driving my C7 as preferred the music of the engine.

(other than ‘Born To Be Wild’)
Theme from Top Gun "Highway to the Danger Zone" done by Kenny Loggins. I will never enjoy the thrill of piloting an F-14 Tomcat, but the exhilaration of pushing my black on black 19 GS a bit to that tune is an acheivable "adrelinin rush". 😊😊

A sentimental driving favorite for me is "Day of the Eagle" by Robin Trower. Used to play it back in my band days a LONG time ago.

Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf

As soon as that first riff starts, I can feel my right foot going down a little further.
