I have been looking at the C7 used car market and come to the conclusion that I won't be buying one..the prices people are asking are just insane,50 or $60,000+ for a 2015 2016 Z51? Not happening, when I bought my 2005 C6 Z51 with 26,000 miles it was 7 years old,the MSRP on the car new was $53,000 and I got it for $21,500 I thought that was reasonable but people today damn near paying for a 6 or 7 year old car new car price..thats just nuts.
What's your thoughts?

That seems to be a thing of the past...when I bought my C3 and C5 both at 6 years old, I got them for half the new price as you did with your C6. Ironically that's why I wound up ordering a brand new 2019 at the very end of the series run...as 2 year old ones in not the best of condition were selling for all of $8K less than what I paid for a new one. Mind you in the last year of the C7 I was able to get a 10% factory discount and another 10% off because my employer turned out to a be a financing partner with GM...but still those days seem awfully far away now in the current market.
I really love driving my C7, and I still get tons of comliments on it. So its pretty much why I am finding it hard if not impossible to even consider a no discount MSRP priced C8. Even though I'd love to have one.

After the second year of C7 production deals and substantial discounts were pretty much commonplace I picked up a loaded 2016 Z51 with a huge discount + the GM family discount.

Prices are about as low right now as you're gonna see due to colder weather months ahead, sure, you can find an occasional deal, but if you wait until Spring, you will have more choices but you'll also see a spike in price. Happy hunting and good luck!

I was recently stopped on the road by a guy who offered me $70K for my 2019 GS A8 coupe. I told him it wasn't for sale and that I planned on being buried in it (or leave it to my son-in-law). The prices are crazy for C7's and have been for a while. The way I look at it is that I'm finally driving my dream car (she's my daily driver) and well what price could you possible place on that enjoyment?

The only thing bad about the car, actually it's the worst is storing it for the winter.
I put those AS3+ all season tires on last year to get a few extra weeks but the real fear is an early or late snow or a long cold winter that never ends with lots of salt,
it can be traumatizing. .

With the current politicians in DC, they are willing to let energy prices rise until their “green dream” looks good to the public.
This doesn’t bode well for gas prices.
That said, Corvettes aren’t going to drop in price for the foreseeable future as this could be the beginning ofthe end for high power gasoline sports cars.
You need to decide if it will be “I wish I had bought a Corvette or I am glad I bought a Vette” in the future.
As for pricing, Carmax offered me $51,300 for my 2016 Z51 loaded coupe with 20,200 miles on it last week.
I won’t sell since there are few M7 loaded cars for sale.
Only you can decide what is best for you.

I'll consider buying a C8 in 5-6 years when it's considered "obsolete" and has taken at least a 50% deprecation hit.
