I won't be buying another Corvette

Sorry you are having problems. I have owned 4 different Corvettes over the years (69, 99, 13 GS) and my 19 GS is the most trouble free car that I have owned. At 18,000 miles the only issue I ran into was tire replacement. The factory installed P/S tires have fantastic grip but they wear out pretty quick. The only reason they have lasted this long is because I had the alignment set to go with the minimum amount of camber possible and still have a great handling car. If I were in your shoes (and I am not), I would take it to a different dealership before giving up on the car,

If you like the car, find another dealer that gives a ****. There has to be a dealer that will honestly help resolve your issues. Or like others have said, it's a sellers market, sell and move on, do what you feel comfortable with.

Lemon law document all your visits to dealer and send letters with dates. No more verbal send the letter now and make GM and the dealership have to sign for them. ! That is your way of getting a new replacement car or your money back. Do not threaten them in way. Make it a hard ship case for any action to be performed. Also check with your state for there steps in getting your car fix! Good Luck .

I had that reaction after my 1987 IROC-Z Camaro experience. So many defects and failures to include the engine, transmission, radiator, alternator, some others I have forgotten... and build issues like having the wires for the second radiator fan running through the blades of the other radiator fan. I am not making that up. But I took a chance and my C7 has been flawless.

One suggestion to the OP. Get the car good and hot before taking it to the dealership. When you get there for your appointment drive into the service bay and shut the car off. It has never taken me a long time to have the paperwork initiated and be able to get the Service Writer to walk over to my car and show them what is wrong. They have to open the door to get the car's latest information from the OBD data link so it isn't much of an effort for them to sit in the car and try and start it. The mechanics are busy working on other cars so they may not be able to come out and see the problem but sometimes they can walk out for a few minutes to observe. You can't expect a mechanic to take a car out for a 20 minute or longer ride when he wants to make money by working on somebody else's car. The more flat rate 3-hour jobs that he can finish in 1 hour the more money he and the dealership make.
If you want the car to be checked while it is hot make sure it is hot when you take it to them and make sure the Service Writer sees what is wrong. Remember this as well, an appointment is just an appointment to talk to the Service Writer. The mechanic is working on other jobs and your car gets scheduled into the process. If you stay they usually move your car ahead of cars where the owners just dropped off their cars.

Try and find yourself a better dealership would be my first piece of advice.
If that fails, time to sell. We've chatted a few times, your heart is definitely set on other cars to come you want, so like others have said, sell while the market is still hot, buy something else or sit on it and get that next car your wanting.

I'm not set on selling the car because It's still beautiful, fun and useful to get groceries and do trips. I was planning to keep the vette and also get an exotic because the frunk is almost useless.
It just sucks big time to waste so much time to have them fix something. I tried reaching the manager at the dealer and he doesn't return calls, I'm going to make a detour tomorrow and we are going to have a chat about the starter. If not I'll order one myself and who knows maybe send them the bill with a letter I'm taking them to small claims court.
As for GM I also asked to speak to a manager for my oil consumption test since the new agent who opened my case doesn't return calls either.

No matter how 'good' a car is, when a fun car isn't fun anymore for *whatever* reason, it's time for it to go. Been there, done that and trying to make it livable just prolongs the inevitable; no harm, no foul, it just didn't work out.

There's another dealer but it's starting to be a bit far to come back. I doubt they offer a shuttle, Probably 70$-130$ round trip in a taxi, but it can be done sure. I don't really want to go there but I'll go if I have to. When I was shopping for a C7 the salesman told me there was a discount on the grand sport in the showroom and refused to tell me what the discount was or give me the total price of it, all he was doing was spewing out monthly payments without any amount of years. He didn't want to tell me if it was 3 years, 4 years, 5 years etc. After 20 minutes of this nonsense I left and I bought my current car in another region altogether.

Safety Car
I've owned the car for a year and half now, I like the car very much except with the all the bad experiences of having to get something fixed under warrantee, ordering unobtanium oil, or get any attention from either GM or dealers is leaving me a bit bitter. I have done 2 oil consumption test each summer from 2 dealers and I can't even get GM to return my calls on how to proceed with the result as the last dealer handed me my paperwork and said nothing, I'm on my own.
I've also had a slow crank since I bought the car and told the dealer many times the starter was bad and they needed to drive it in the city before it got real hot. All they did was let it sit on idle for 20 minutes and again for 1 hour and told me it was fine it was probably due to the engine compression when hot. Well last week after a drive I stopped at a store and the car wouldn't start, it cranked so slow the starter started to fry and filled the cab with an electronic burn smell. I let the car cool down 45 minutes and started it again.
I have another whining sound, they changed the crank position sensor but the noise is still there...
I'm starting to wonder if I should sell it before the warrantee is up take the money and run.

Burning Brakes
Sorry to hear about your bad luck with that dealership. I have a 2016 Stingray that developed the dreaded tranny shudder last year. I called the dealership, got an appt. and took my Corvette there. They fixed it at no charge to me. It has been flawless ever since. I guess it is time for you to sell and move on if you can not find a good dealership.

Melting Slicks
Sorry to hear that. I bought my 19 GS new in May 2018 and have put about 9,000 miles on it since. Zero problems, perfect paint, no cracked rims, no overheating, no tranny issues (M7), no leaking, rattles or squeaks (not true there is one intermittent rattle in the trunk sometimes).
Part of the reason I have resisted selling the car in this hot market and getting in line for a C8, is because I know my car is perfect (knock on wood) and I hate to give that known quantity up.
If I were in your position, I would probably sell it. You'll never be thrilled with your purchase like you should be.
